March 4, 201412 yr That's the only way to be! I had a quick look, I must admit I can't see how it would be useful other than for background maps in FSCommander or maybe the bathymetry for P3d. The resolution is not great. Looks lovely from a height though.
March 4, 201412 yr I read years ago about a chip that someone invented ( I think IBM ) that was a 3D matrix of silicone that could hold untold amounts of read only data. I just wonder if that is still available and if photos like this could be loaded on the chip that is then in your computer to relveal a HD world for US simmers to fly in. Mark CYYZ

The resolution is not great. Looks lovely from a height though. LoL! That picture unzips to almost 650 megs for a good reason. I have the resolution as 21600 x 10800! It was indeed IBM, and they could write the data but not reliably read it. Otherwise these little sugar cubes would be everywhere!!!
