March 13, 201412 yr I have no concerns, Al: I'm using it and have had no issues. I did a custom install (as always) - just the driver and PhysX. March 14, 201412 yr Author Are there any DX10 concerns with regard to using the new Nvidia driver 335.23? If not, is there a recommended install procedure? Thx much, Al
March 15, 201412 yr Author I have no concerns, Al: I'm using it and have had no issues. I did a custom install (as always) - just the driver and PhysX. All the Best, pj Thanks PJ. After installing the new driver and Ver 2 of the DX10 Fixer, a test flight looked terrible, things were shimmering inside and outside the VC. I checked the FSX Nvidia profile (hadn't changed, all OK), kept trying different settings in the new Fixer, uninstalled and reinstalled the libraries (all while pulling some hair out which I clearly cannot afford to do!), but nothing helped. Then a small bell went off and sure enough, as we had been warned could happen, something had turned off AA in FSX! Sigh... So now all is well again, and I still have 6 hairs left on my head. I hope this “sad” tale saves a bit of frustration for someone else. Al
March 16, 201412 yr http://www.simforums.com/forums/order-of-uninstalling-nvidia-drivers_topic46045.html Give this a look Al. Nick gives a nice basic guide and how to when it comes to the install of an Nvidia Driver. I thought I was knowing pretty well how to change a driver, and yet Nick always seems to have another reason for a method I hadn't thought of. I too just updated my driver and had no trouble at all after going through his little outline on driver changing. Hope this helps. Respectfully, Jet
March 16, 201412 yr Paul, just wondering if your PhysX install is related to fsx and dx10? I don't think it is, and I believe fsx can't even benefit from it, but just wondering... March 16, 201412 yr To my knowledge - it has no relation or impact on FSX DX9 or 10, jcomm, but there are other games and applications which do use it (apparently). Les Hesley (Mavrick) suggested it was needed for "Surround" for e.g., but - again - I have no knowledge of that, either, as I use TH2Go. Gotta read up on it! March 17, 201412 yr I used the DDU Uninstaller link from there forum without any issues and then the new driver Michael Michael Moe
March 19, 201412 yr Cool Michael. Mostly what Nick was saying is to make sure to flush the Nvidia folders (again go by his guide) as sometimes the Nvidia drivers have a funny way of re installing. Ha! Mine did that too as I was going through Nicks Guide. I had to laugh. May want to give yours a look-see just in case. I was astonished how I thought I changed the driver. Nope it re-installed itself making it look like it was all good and well. Just sayin. Respectfully, Jet
