March 20, 201412 yr Hi, could someone please advise me on how to disable the green message bar from appearing across the top of the screen? Cheers Rod.
March 20, 201412 yr Administrators Green Message Bar? What kind of messages? Sorry, I had to go look. This is the ATIS airport weather service giving wind direction, etc. Click on contact ground or your IFR clearance and the message will stop. This is good info to know before taxiing to the runway. March 20, 201412 yr Are you sure these are not caused by a program such as Active Sky? Or could you mean the METAR that control tower is sending?
March 20, 201412 yr Commercial Member If you are running FSXAssist / P3DAssist , uncheck the Messaging checkbox and click on 'Run FSX' Regards Jim Allen SkyPilot Software Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
March 20, 201412 yr Author Yes it's the ATIS weather report, I am unable to see a check box in ASN to stop it from appearing as I would just rather stop it from appearing, I dont use FSXAssist, I forgot to look but maybe it's a RC4 thing. Cheers Rod.
March 20, 201412 yr General options/Simulator depiction options/Show in sim text message. Untick the box.
March 20, 201412 yr Author Simulator depiction options/Show in sim message is unticked but still comes up. Cheers Rod.
March 21, 201412 yr Yea I have also seen this message. I am using RC4 and ASN. It seems to be a atis report but the airport that it is for has nothing to do with my flight plan or anything. It also seems to happen randomly and if I close the bar it just re-appears each time.
March 21, 201412 yr Change your com frequencies then... away from the ATIS frequency. Or just disable the sounds, bars for default ATC completely
March 21, 201412 yr How do you change the colors on the bar?--green with red lettering is just terrible. I remember there was a way but forgot how to do it. Jim Atkins
March 21, 201412 yr Commercial Member I did some research into this a little while back, seems it cannot be disabled (hope i am wrong) A strange fact that I discovered, that msg bar is actually a window, if you right click on it you can undock or move it. Regards Rob Prest
