Monitor display setting

Featured Replies

Sorry if this should go in hardware or windows section

I have just manged to get an adapter for an old vga monitor I had ,and I've connected it to my main pc as a second screen>The problem I have is that I don't know how to get Fsx to run full screen on my main screen and have some of my other programs visable only on the other screen and not have Fsx across both  which has a lower resolution ,I can only see the option in the windows control panel for extend screen or duplicate.

How do I fix the problem.

Thanks

Pete Little

I'm not entirely sure you can run it full screen unless you want it to cover both monitors. When you extend to the second monitor as you need to do, the computer is going to think of both screens as one. When you run FSX at full screen, it will do exactly that. What I believe you'll need to do is run FSX in windowed mode but maximize the window to fill your primary screen. This will leave your second monitor available to drag other windows to.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

Right click your desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel. Go to Display and then Set up Multiple Displays. You should be able to drag things from one desktop to the other but FSX will not span across both displays unless you have a dongle. In Windowed Mode you can drag some panel items in FSX over to the other monitor but you won't be able to do that in Full Screen mode.

Hey, that was a serious question. ^_^

Hi JIm.

What dongle are we talking about here?

gb.

I was talking about the Matrox Triple Head to Go dongle - http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/displayport/. You can read more about setting up dual monitors at the following link - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/343759-dual-monitors-windows-7-64-bit-using-nvidia-card/. I have two monitors and the only thing I have been able to do is pull a gauge or something from a panel and drag it to the second monitor in windowed mode only. Full Screen mode causes a crash.

Hope this helps.
