Wrong Approach With Ils

I would disengage the APP and engage LNAV (to disengage the APP) and bring the aircraft in manually.  Then you can change the course and follow the PFD (primary flight display).

A quick question on topic. IN PMDG NGX, when in APP mode on ILS I cannot change the course knob once the FMC adjusts it. Is there a way to adjust the course in the FMC to adjust the line up issue (I'm not talking about approaches where the path is not directly across the threshold, but rather one in which it should be lined up).

thanks

rob

Rob, I'm not sure what PMDG does but if you are using the ILS then the course in the window doesnt matter, it's more for a visual reference. The ILS is a 'one trick pony' and will only track the LOC and GS signal, regardless of what course is dialed in.
