310R Priming pump sound on constantly

Featured Replies

I have updated to the newest 310R update released this week and now the priming pump sound plays when the battery power is applied. The sound goes off when the prime pump is selected on either left or right. It appears the switch is working in the opposite sense?

Cheers

Sure it's not the pressure switch? Right hand side, in front of the co-pilot seat.

310R update eh? I'll have to chase that down.

The C310R is a very noisy cockpit in real life, and I've taken pains to replicate this as much as possible in the sim version.

In addition to the pressure pump used to keep the door seals inflated, there are also cooling fans that come on for the avionics, gyro sounds, inverter sound, and a periodic 'chuff' sound that is the aforementioned door seals' pressure relief valve blowing off excess air pressure.

Now that said, the update was sent out in error. There is a newer build that will be made available soon that corrects some minor errors that were in the misspent installer file.

OK I have now updated to the latest release and the problem is still there. I have been flying the 310 for a long time so I'm used to what the cockpit sounds like and it is definitely the priming pump operating all the time the battery switch is on EXCEPT when the priming switch is selected left of right I.e. The opposite sense. The only way I can stop this is to rename the 'snd16.wav' file in the ../panel/319sounds folder. Does no one else have this problem as it doesn't seem to be setup dependent?

I've just updated this. Neat little aircraft. Is there a tutorial, or is there a way to engage the GPS coz I could not see or find a GPS switch, so did a short flight just monitoring the flightpath?

vc10man,

As your query is not related to the thread could you please start a separate thread.

Thanks

OK I have now updated to the latest release and the problem is still there.

Having had a few moments this morning to take a closer look, I have found and fixed the issue here. I have no idea whatever why suddenly FSX/P3Dv2 is no longer parsing the XML script correctly. It's been working correctly for years now! :unsure:

In the C310_Logic.xml file is this line:

(L:Primer,enum) ! (A:ELECTRICAL MASTER BATTERY,bool) and if{  2 (>L:XMLSND16,bool) } els{  3 (>L:XMLSND16,bool) }

(* change to this *)

(L:Primer,enum) 0 != (A:ELECTRICAL MASTER BATTERY,bool) and if{  2 (>L:XMLSND16,bool) } els{  3 (>L:XMLSND16,bool) }
Note the only difference is the change from just the "not" symbol "!" to the "not equal 0" symbols "0 !="...

Honestly, it's not worth the expense of re-wrapping and re-distributing the entire installer package, but I will make a revised gauge C310_XMLGauges.CAB file available via the support forum.

Thank you for the detailed report, as it was very, very helpful! :Applause:

Bill, on that note:

 I've visited the Milviz forum site to watch for the update, but I can't find where to register - am I blind or am I missing something?

Also, I bought the 310 on SimMarket, and they notified me about update version 3.140420 being available, so I downloaded a zip file with that name; unfortunately inside the zip there's still the version 3.140420 installer. Did SimMarket botch that? Or did I miss something here, too?

Thanks,

Daniel, I just a moment created the announcement/sticky post at the official C310R support forum, and added a direct link in my post above.

I'm unsure of the possible confusion, as MilViz C310R FSX_v3.140420.exe is the current version...

Thanks Bill, downloaded the CAB (though I'm not a registered user, at least not that I know of).

On the version confusion: below is a snippet from the update notification I got from simmarket, but if it's just their confusing naming policy then I'm happy!

Oh, I see. "Someone" renamed the FSX version and didn't take note that it was actually compiled on the 20th, whereas the P3Dv2 version was compiled on the 21st.

In any event, zipped file name not withstanding, you do in fact have the latest installer...
