ok looks like servers are up again

Yes, but wx downloads are still quite slow. This has been a chronic problem for several weeks. HiFi has stated they're upgrading their server architecture to handle loads and have just released  ASN hotfix-5 which supposedly utilizes the new servers and determines which server is optimal to use at any given time.

I assume they're going to have ongoing problems until all of this work is completed. I hope they've accounted for heavy weekend usage because it seems to me that's when people have the most opportunity to sim. I also hope they announce when the upgrades are complete. Until then, using the product is a hit-miss kind of situation.

I've had no problems, been flying since 13:00 GMT....

The problems are localized, e.g., Europe, USA, etc. It may also depend on the specific route your ISP uses to reach the ASN servers. But the bottom line is server overload, at least that's how HiFi has described it.
