Misaligned gates - how to fix?

Featured Replies

Sorry, not sure where to post this.

On many of my add-on airports, when I start at a gate, my aircraft is sticking through the airport, or is misaligned at the gate, not allowing the jetways to operate.  How do you fix this problem?

Thanks,

Kevin

When you start a flight at a gate, with or without a jetway,  your aircraft is placed with the center-of-balance point directly over the spot where your nosewheel should actually be.  I have found my aircraft with the nose completely into the terminal building at some airports.  To correct that, you would have to change that center-of -balance point and that would not be a good idea.

I normally take off the parking brake and do a pushback until my Nosewheel hits the spot.

Argh!  You have GOT to be kidding me!  Really?  What am I paying $ for add-on's for?  OK, is there any way to fix a jet that is parket at 45° to the gate with the nose on the spot?  This is a cold and dark aircraft...

my first check .... given i've had much smaller discrepancies (than yours) but it did include jetways not working & for different aircraft types ... would be to look at the afcad (using the mentioned ADE) to see how it matches the texture files that overlay that layout.

i had to move a jetway & park node once because they were too close to the terminal though that caused a mismatch with the overlaying apron textures !! in another case, same problem but the textures matched when i fixed the afcad.

i'm sure i could find many examples if i used other gates, but have never seen a 45deg problem.

hope this helps.

for now, cheers

This also could be a duplicate Afcad file in your fsx/scenery/world/scenery folder.

I've had this problem where i added a new airport scenery and had 2 Afcad files.i had to rename the fsx one

just a check..if you press Spot key is your Addon airport displaying properly??No double buildings, jetways or runways??

OK, so I bought ADE and thought I would fix the problem.  However, the parked aircraft (all of them) are in the wrong place and the inconsistency is not regular.  There's aircraft parked where there are no gates, and when ADE is connected, it shows that the aircraft are not parked where they are supposed to be.  The actual aircraft are way off from where they should be.  Now what?  Moving the airport in one direction or another or rotating it will not fix this, because every spot is off differently.  I even reinstalled this product.
