May 3, 201412 yr Hello there Just installed the T7 and having this unhappy experience: 1. Missing Standby Airspeed Indicator gauge 2. Missing Barometric Standby Altimeter gauge 3. Several PMDG_777X.DLL errors, caused by clicking on some of the switches - all causing FSX fatal error with CTD Any idea?! - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2014-05-02T02:42:55.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>158133</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>UserX</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>fsx.exe</Data> <Data>10.0.61472.0</Data> <Data>475e17d3</Data> <Data>PMDG_777X.DLL</Data> <Data>1.0.0.0</Data> <Data>52256029</Data> <Data>c0000417</Data> <Data>0022035a</Data> <Data>1004</Data> <Data>01cf65a0e34bdf3d</Data> <Data>B:\FSX\fsx.exe</Data> <Data>B:\FSX\GAUGES\PMDG_777X.DLL</Data> <Data>7652de4e-d1a3-11e3-a12b-6cf04952d000</Data> </EventData> </Event> Phillip Seedorff Setup: ASUS PRIME Z370-P i9 9900K 16GB-DDR4 nVidia RTX4070TI Win10 64 1909 PRO1863 USB earphones Artic7 Steel3 and s/pdif opt.7.1 surround Denon amp P3DV5.4/MSFS ASP/ASCA ProATC/X AIGAIM-OCI Multimonitor setup

May 3, 201412 yr Author Sorry for all the posts on the same subject!! Not my intention at all, however every time I posted the subject I was directed to a page saying: "Service temporary unavailable due to maintenance, please try again later (or something like that)" which I indeed did many times with the same announcement, not aware of that my posting actually succeeded from the first time and on, despite the negative announcement! So please delete all the identical posts, if ever possible?! What anti virus are you running? With all respect, I can't see what this has to do with missing gauges and a crashing DLL. I'm using Norton Internet Security 2014 - disabled for virus scanning during FSX sessions and installations. May 3, 201412 yr With all respect, I can't see what this has to do with missing gauges and a crashing DLL. I'm using Norton Internet Security 2014 - disabled for virus scanning during FSX sessions and installations. The problem is that some AV packages can interfere with the initial installation of new software, blocking or quarantining files - and they do not always warn that they are doing so. It certainly sounds like that may have happened here... that certain files required to run the 777 either are not present, or are not being allowed to run. I have had problems with Norton in particular causing this issue, even when it has been configured to not scan FSX. One problem is that PMDG aircraft run processes external to FSX itself, which may not be included when you tell the AV to ignore FSX. May 3, 201412 yr Commercial Member It has everything to do with missing guages & crashing dll's... I have come across aggressive virus scanners deleting files countless times while helping customers trouble shoot issues. Have also seen simmers swear that it is definitively disabled, as soon as I log on I can see the process is still running in the background blocking or quarantining files silently. kaspersky is the worse out of all of them. May 3, 201412 yr Author Okay?! As I never have had that kind of problem before with FSX addons (at least not that I'm aware of..). Beside uninstalling Norton - which is not gonna happen - what are your suggestions then, please? Phillip Seedorff Setup: ASUS PRIME Z370-P i9 9900K 16GB-DDR4 nVidia RTX4070TI Win10 64 1909 PRO1863 USB earphones Artic7 Steel3 and s/pdif opt.7.1 surround Denon amp P3DV5.4/MSFS ASP/ASCA ProATC/X AIGAIM-OCI Multimonitor setup
May 3, 201412 yr Commercial Member Try a complete re-install of the product with your AV completely shut down (Check that no related processes are running in task manager) Make sure you have full admin rights & also run the installer as admin. If all else fails log a ticket and wait for PMDG to take a look. edit - who said uninstall?? Just shut it down completely... Rob Prest
May 3, 201412 yr Author OK, I'll try and do my best - however completely shutting down Norton Internet Security 2014 is not easy at all. I would have to contact Norton support for that one. "Acces denied" on attempt to shot down any Norton process in the task manager! May 3, 201412 yr Beside uninstalling Norton - which is not gonna happen - what are your suggestions then, please? Do your self a favour heard so many things that Norton does, get rid of it and just get mse which is free and does just as a good job, so far never had any issues with mse so far, and others will confirm as well. May 3, 201412 yr I highly recommend ditching Norton for something else. Heck I'd even say Microsoft Security Essentials is better than Norton. Norton produces way too many false positives. On top of its bad habit of deleting files without notifying the user. (I've seen stories of it blocking windows updates before.) Norman Pearson II
May 3, 201412 yr And also.....do you have FSX installed in the programs folder by any chance? Rob Robson
May 3, 201412 yr Author And also.....do you have FSX installed in the programs folder by any chance? Nono, it has it's own drive. Let me first try and get this possible AV issue cleared up and see if it's helps after that I'll get back to you guys.. Phillip Seedorff Setup: ASUS PRIME Z370-P i9 9900K 16GB-DDR4 nVidia RTX4070TI Win10 64 1909 PRO1863 USB earphones Artic7 Steel3 and s/pdif opt.7.1 surround Denon amp P3DV5.4/MSFS ASP/ASCA ProATC/X AIGAIM-OCI Multimonitor setup
May 3, 201412 yr Author Now I seem to have managed neutralizing Norton and all it's bull.. Did a reinstall after uninstalling, but those 2 mentioned gauges are still missing...so worries! What exactly do I need to delete in the registry and elsewhere in order to do 100 % clean reinstall?!! Phillip Seedorff Setup: ASUS PRIME Z370-P i9 9900K 16GB-DDR4 nVidia RTX4070TI Win10 64 1909 PRO1863 USB earphones Artic7 Steel3 and s/pdif opt.7.1 surround Denon amp P3DV5.4/MSFS ASP/ASCA ProATC/X AIGAIM-OCI Multimonitor setup
May 5, 201412 yr I recently read (FSUIPC doc.) that you have to install all addons at the same security level as FSX. So if you installed FSX as Admin, then install the addons like this as well. If you did not install FSX as Admin, then dont do that with addons either. As for a reinstall: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a87/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-fsx But before you reinstall.....why dont you ask for support from PMDG. Just submit a ticket....I often get an answere within 24hrs! Rob Robson
