May 25, 201412 yr http://www.captainsim.com/products/l011/index.html This would be good if they start doing all their projects. Could open more doors for other developers. Thanks
May 25, 201412 yr Commercial Member This was available a few weeks ago. I got the aircraft in P3D and it is impressive. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
May 26, 201412 yr this will get moved to the CptSim forums where there is already a post/thread about the L1011 from a few weeks ago.

May 26, 201412 yr Commercial Member I would like to see CS get a good focus with P3D. There is a sizable percentage of flight sim users that are P3D users and this percentage will continue to grow. Many people now, myself included, will not purchase third party products unless they work in P3D. Onward and upward. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
May 26, 201412 yr According to A2A they will still concentrate on FSX it seems as they say the market is still strong in that regard and they see no reason to move completely to P3D. Its almost like the FSX to FS9 debate years ago when developers stopped developing for FSX. I don't see that happening with P3D though. I feel FSX will stay strong for years to come due to vendors charging much higher prices for P3D addons than FSX. P3D addons will flourish but FSX will remain a viable simulator for another few years I'm sure. PMDG even stated some people may not like the price they will need to charge if they go P3D. Sean Green
May 26, 201412 yr It doesn't look like Captain Sim is charging outrageous amounts for their L1011 in P3D, why would PMDG have to? I will not purchase anymore products for FSX and if PMDG does not make their products compatible with P3D it wouldn't bother me a bit. There are lots of other very good developers out there. Intel i-9 13900KF @ 6.0 Ghz, MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X 24GB, MSI MAG CORELIQUID C360, MSI Z790 A-PRO WIFI, MSI MPG A1000G 1000W, G.SKILL 48Gb@76000 MHz DDR5, MSI SPATIUM M480 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2TB, Windows 11 Pro Ghost Spectre x64 “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the day and night to visit violence on those who would do us harm”.

Its almost like the FSX to FS9 debate years ago when developers stopped developing for FSX. I don't see that happening with P3D though. I totally understand that point of view, however, that commitment to FSX might change a bit as P3D continues to receive updates and enhancements. Eventually P3D will just be so much better than FSX that most people will simply be compelled to modernize to this decade's technology. This is a good thing. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
May 27, 201412 yr I agree with you Mike; its the same as the FSX FS9 debate years ago. The only thing holding most people back from moving on is the 800 pound elephant in the room... PMDG and furthermore wild pricing structures from addon companies. Milviz is now moving to a similar pricing as A2A for P3D. The only company not doing so is Carenado but those planes just are flashy textures with no real simulation qualities. If they don't fully embrace or move to P3D there will still be life in FSX for quite awhile. This will also depend on the pricing structure PMDG would have to charge when dealing with "certified" Boeing products. They already charge quite a premium compared to most addon aircraft. If they end up doubling the prices or use a price structure similar to A2A then this will price most people out of the market for P3D and they will stick with FSX. I think we will see a split where people will use P3D for GA and FSX for tubeliners. I know personally I just spent a hundred just to upgrade my A2A Cessna; granted there was a rebate. I know I will probably continue to use FSX for PMDG and will not upgrade those to P3D (if that time ever comes) but I will upgrade my GA fleet. The hobby will continue to flush out most except only the more "wealthy" hobbyist. (I hope nobody is offended by that.) The person that can purchase a $1000 gpu along with a $200 aircraft addon. I could be wrong on all accounts but seeing the uproar caused by A2A I'm already getting the popcorn ready for when and if PMDG announces their pricing structure or licensing agreements. PMDG probably has many more lawyers than A2A I'm sure. Sean Green
