May 25, 201412 yr Just a tip on a cool thing (at least I think so) I set up this weekend. I stumbled on the HIDMacros http://www.hidmacros.eu/ keyboard mapping software, and that, coupled with a cheap USB keypad I got on Amazon, allowed me to add this little button setup for flying the Carenado Skymaster in XPlane. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qgjbzfhzby2urj4/2000-12-31%2023.00.00-2.jpg (The blacked-out other buttons only show up this badly with the camera flash). The other keys are programmed with "cheat sheet" things I may have to do quickly while in flight. Otherwise, works great. Just another way to add to realism by pushing a button rather than clicking the mouse. John
May 27, 201412 yr That's awesome! Could also just use an extra keyboard, yeah? Be super for autopilot / heading bug / freq changing I think!

May 27, 201412 yr team an alternative is the logitech G13 I've seen that... On Amazon you can get USB keypads for only $6. Could be a great solution to add multiple extra control buttons.
May 27, 201412 yr You can also get an X-Keys unit that allows you to program anything you want into its flash hardware. http://xkeys.com/xkeys.php
May 27, 201412 yr Wonder if you could use two? frank are you asking about the logitech g13 ?? if so, i think (but don't know) you could use 2 .... given i use a logitech g510 keyboard which gives me more of the same (25+18 keys * 3 modes per profile by 2 profiles (on the ground & in the air) to input to fsx / pmdg / mce / gsx / aes / extra 2D gauges for a mouseless sim !! of course all are assigned by direct commands or fsuipc ... and i'm sure one day one will do the same in XPX once the developers provide custom key assignment (so you don't need to learn a computer language as one does now). for now, cheers john martin
