Idea - Make 773/sp1 SDK available to partners now?

Featured Replies

Hi Ryan et al,

While we patiently we wait for the Capt. to have a speedy recovery and get back on his feet, I was wondering if PMDG has considered making the 773/sp1 SDK available now, perhaps at least to back-channel partners or vendors who request it?  As I understand it from one of your previous posts, the SDK is done, and with the 'code freeze', it would seem there is little chance of corrections required to the SDK before release?  Wouldn't this facilitate 3rd-party add-ons getting a head-start and perhaps releasing their respective products and updates that much closer to the 773/sp1 release date? Off the top of my head, a short list of vendors probably waiting on the SDK might include:

  • Activesky Next - HiFiTech (guess they already have it though)
  • PFPX/TopCat - FlightsimSoft
  • Flightsim Flight Keeper - Thomas Molitor
  • GSX - FSDT
  • AES - Aerosoft

Just an idea and I suppose it's probably already been kicked-around the PMDG table once or twice, but I thought it worth asking.

TGIF!  :drinks:

Nobody has the SDK.

Nope.  Other way around.  PMDG imported ASN functionality...

I think Bryan from FS2Crew has already got the SDK. But due to NDA he has to remain silence now.

Nope.

:Black Eye: Doh!  How in the heck did I leave FS2Crew off my short-list?  I have most all of Bryan's incarnations too.

Considering the final release version of the SP1 and -300ER aren't even complete yet... probably not till at least then.

Like literally, they may still add/change more code in the SP1 and -300ER still, depending how the end of the beta testing goes. Yes It's probably 99.5% finished, but, you know. that last half a percent may possibly just need some tweaking.

I'd say SP1/B77W release first, then SDK stuff after that. like normal releases do.

No point releasing a SDK, then having to tweak something in the actual product release code that breaks something in how the SDK works.

Why would they give it to Aerosoft? I created a file myself the night I got it lol. I doubt it'll take GSX long to update- I've never tried configuring it actually.

PFPX is fine too....

And FS Captain. I know Dutch is waiting for it.

System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A,  Intel i9-14900KF,  Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. WinWing FCU, EFIS, MCDU

I would support this call at least for the FS2Crew team.

To be honest there will be hardly any difference between pushback of 77200 and 773.

For the stairs to the aircraft doors, the GSX works with ANY AIRCRAFT .. that means GSX will automatically capture the position of doors on 777-300 once it is installed.
