June 21, 201411 yr Enjoy, and dream about the next best EVER 744 sim! http://aerowinx.com/forum/topic.php?id=1573 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
June 21, 201411 yr Yes, after all these years waiting, finally a successor to the old DOS based ps1.3. is coming. Wow the level of detail is unbelievable! This is going to be THE benchmark for boeing 747 400 add ons!
June 22, 201411 yr Author Yes Georges, sometimes I ask myself why I should waste time & money on generic flight simulators... After all it is in the ( so far Combat and PS1 ) flightsims that I have found all I look for in a flight simulator. I am having the time of my simmer life with 3 combat flightsims, with rather specific and detailed aircraft models, and I was an avid PS1 user. Look fwd for the release of PSX :-) and it runs in Win, Mac, Lin :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
June 23, 201411 yr Does anyone know any expected release timeframes for this? There is a semi-subtle (possible) hint on one of the released manual pages that MIGHT indicate it will release this coming Saturday the 28th. Officially, Hardy said "early July" in a post a few weeks ago. In any case, the software will only be available on DVD, so there will be at least a few days required for shipping before any of us have it in our hands once it is released. I assume it will be available from more than one online retailer if the marketing plan is similar to the original PS1 I do not think that PSX will be priced within the comfort zone of those on a tight budget. I fully expect it to sell in the "several hundred" dollar/pound/euro range. Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. June 23, 201411 yr Author €200 - 250 is my guess :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
June 23, 201411 yr €200 - 250 is my guess :-) That is about where I would predict it to go for as well for home users. I have no doubt that PSX will be used by r/w 744 operators as a procedural trainer, just as PS-1 was, and I'm sure those customers will pay considerably more. No complaints on the price though, whatever it turns out to be. Based on the abridged manual, this new version is going to be incredible, with almost unlimited potential for interfacing with external hardware and software. It will be a cockpit builders's dream come true! Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. June 23, 201411 yr Author Whenever it becomes available, I'll have the deepest struggle against myself not to rush buying it.... I really want to start spending less time with complex systems / aircraft and opt for short simming sessions, usually in a dogfight somewhere in an MP session in IL2 BOS, DCS World or Rise of Flight, but the 744 is by far my preferred airliner ever, I loved PS-1, and this PS-X is looking so amazingly good that I don't know if I'll resist :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
June 24, 201411 yr I just read on the Aerowinx forum that PSX will be released in August. The expected retail price is 347 Euro.
June 24, 201411 yr Author Well, inexpensive if we think about what's being offered, but in absolute terms, expensive for the casual simmer. But, think about what we have invested in multiple airliner add-ons for MSFS or X-Plane that can't even como close to the level of detail put into PSX? BTW, for FSx or P3d owners this is good news :-): http://aerowinx.com/forum/topic.php?post=14327#post14327 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
