Trouble Downloading New Aircraft

Featured Replies

I purchased The Super Huey X and the first time I downloaded I got the Full Fuselage view , but no sound. I un-installed then re-installed using CC Cleaner, disabling The Windows Firewall while downloading and then re-booting. Then I got half a fuselage and still no sound. After three more attempts using the same procedures , I am lost for answers.  Many thanks for any ideas you might have.

Are you getting only a partial download?  Is there an auto-installer or are you unzipping and

placing files manually?  You say no sound!  Is there a sound folder in the aircraft folder?

Have you opened that and are there sound.wav files or just a .cfg file

that aliases another sound folder?

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱

I went into the files.

In the sound cfg   >   [fltsim]

                                  alias =bell206b\sound

The aircraft .cfg  had the word sound, but there was no = anything next to it. It was the same for each of the models, military, civilian, etc.

There was no auto installer, I did it manually.

Alias=bell206b\sound means the Huey is using the bell 206b sound folder and as long

as that bell206b is in your Sim and not hiding in a hangar somewhere it should

work.  Do you have SP1and SP2 or Acceleration installed and maybe DX10

preview unchecked?

Well the sound is not working. In the cfg. file , it has the word sound, but no words after that. I do have SP 1 and SP 2 and Acceleration, but not DX 10.

Do you have the addon in ...\SimObjects\Airplanes or ...\SimObjects\Rotorcraft?

I found out something interesting last night. Still getting the half fuselage with My EZDOC Cameras , but when I right click to Outside > Spot or Lock Spot, i get a full view of the fuselage. This seems to be the only aircraft I'm having trouble with.

When you install a new aircraft in FSX you need to re-run the EZdok configurator tool. If you dont do that you'll get all kinds of weird views in the new a/c.

Thanks cmpbellsjc. I used The EZDOC Configuration Tool and it worked. Now I can see all of the fuselage. Now if I can figure out why there is no engine sound. I can still hear outside FSX sounds.

\SimObjects\Rotorcraft

OK, do you have the Bell206B folder in ...\SimObjects\Rotorcraft?

Does the Bell206B folder contain a Sound folder?

Does it have a sound, cfg and a bunch of .wav files in it?

He didn't answer that part of my questions to him in Post #4.  Some folk, like me, have aircraft

sitting in a Hangar folder outside of SimObjects not realizing things are aliased to them.

There are four models listed as a Bell 206 B. under the \SimObjects\Rotorcraft and two Bell 205's that must belong to the Huey for sure. ( I also have another Bell 206B Heli, don't know if this is the one or if it belongs to the Huey ).

In the second model as a Bell 206b listed there are a bunch of wav.files. in the sound folder. The other three have a sound folder , no wav.files , but do have a cfg. file.

You did not understand my question.

Is there a folder named Bell206B in ...\FSX\SimObjects\Rotorcraft?

There cannot be 4 folders with the same name.
