Could this be what FS2006 Looks Like??

Well,The company is legit, having contracts with Airbus, the FAA, etc....The CAE Tropos visual system. Here are some links about them.Airbus Contracthttp://www.defense-aerospace.com/produit/23701_us.htmlAviation Magazinehttp://www.aviationtoday.com/cgi/av/show_m...=1203milsim.htmCool looking Video, that's for sure. FS needs a new graphics generator, maybe this is it?The Videos highlights the following effects in case it gets pulled.Items with an Asterisk are my observationsContinuous Time of day *(Fly! II Like, IMHO, but looks very smooth)Realistic Moving Models *(Shows A380 as moving example)Environmental EffectsLayered FogLight Point HalosBlowing Snow *(Very Cool)Runway ContaminantsIceBump Mapping and Phong LightingSnow TrailsWinter/Summer Scene TransitionSmogMoving TrafficNight SceneLanding Light LobesDynamic Airport EnvironmentsArticulated ModelsLight Reflections on the FuselageSpecular LightingStatic and Dynamic Airport ClutterOf course it could all just be CAE's contract sims considering the A380 and Korean Airlines are feature very much in the video.I did a search fo FS2006 On their website, and ZERO hits came up for either Microsoft or fs2006.http://www.cae.com/www2004/bin/searchGatew...archWord=fs2006These would be the folks to bring out a new sim with if that is what they are doing. Hopefully that is the case, since the video is quite stunning, even if it isn't FS2006.Regards,Joeaopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

I found some more videos on the website that tell more about what this company does. THey offer a full range of simulated products all the way up to full motion simulators? Anyone want to go half and half on one of those with me?http://www.cae.com/www2004/News_Room/videoGallery.shtmlBob S Reno, NV

HOLY ####! I WANT FS2006! NOW!!!!

That is not FS10...It is a program called Tropos...it's used by the airlines for training. There is also a military version available, but I doubt any of us could run or even afford it...

Looks an awful lot like X-plane to me. Will

Anything is possible. But I can hear the complaints already from people who feel left behind because they can't afford a Cray if Microsoft goes that way.

That is really cool. I hope fs2006 will look like that with the airport illumination, moving aircraft etc. The things that fs2004 does better though is the clouds. There is almost 3d clouds whereas the clouds looked more like fs98. The clouds are drastically improved with fsw than the default clouds.

Ok, I don't think this has anything to do with FS2006. The original link grabbed the EXACT Video from the CAE Website here:CAE News room Video Galleryhttp://www.cae.com/www2004/News_Room/videoGallery.shtmlThe Same Video is titled CAE TROPOS

May not need a Cray, just 32 dedicated parallel`d Athlons! Apparently more and more new simulator visual engines are PC based, cheaper to maintain and setup than a big mainframe type beastie..CheersLungs

This video looks fantastic.Microsoft should get rid of the old crappy graphic engine and use modern graphic cards #### it.What we didnt see in the video was ATC, Cockpits and Clouds. But look at the runways !!!I sick of the old fashioned grey same looking runways like in FS2004. We need bumps, repaired areas, new black concrete, grass <-> concrete fading, dirt, worn out paint and so on...Microsoft better get their job done with FS2006
