August 25, 201411 yr Well I thought I was being smart not upgrading to V2.3 straight-away. Let others discover the bugs etc. Wait for new versions of FSUIPC, MCE, FSGRW and the Migration Tool to be released . It was so simple really ... all I had to do was reign in my natural impatience and I was home free. Particularly as V2.2 had been a full install and I intended V2.3 to be the same, rather than using the patch which seemed a little problematic, judging by the forum postings. So to the uninstall. What? What is that dialog box? Never seen that one before. What does that mean? Well I'll try CCleaner's uninstall instead ... probably just a glitch. Not. Same dialog box. As here: http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p229/Appliance_photos/P3Duninstalldialogbox.png I remember reading a thread about the problems associated with installing direct onto a volume, rather than into a folder, and regretting my decision to do just that last time. Mental note, on this occasion, install into a folder just to be sure. Well not to worry, in the circumstances I'll resort to the patch. Re-read Rob's excellent advice in the pinned topic above. The patch finished. Fantastic I thought. Launched P3D, looked up the version expecting to find V2.3.11345.0 but lo and behold my version was now V2.210438 whereas previously it had been V2.2.10437. It gets better ... the exe. shows V2.3! Needless to say I am not only perplexed and confused I am dumbfounded, even nonplussed. I have a schizophrenic installation which I can't repair, modify or remove. Woe is me! I wonder if some kind member/s may take pity on this wayward soul and provide a solution to my dilemma, if indeed there is one? :( Many thanks in advance folks.
August 25, 201411 yr I had the same problem even though I had already (I thought ) deleted all relevant content and used regedit to remove any Prepar3d entries. I got around it by reinstalling which prompted an uninstall of the previous installation and then allowing the reinstallation to finish. Just follow the prompts, the installer will do the rest.
