  1. A method that I use to use symbolic links to my Prepar3d folder from content on bigger HDDs using Symlink Creator https://sourceforge.net/projects/symlink-creator/ My method using ORBX as an example (however this process works for any content) Move your ORBX folder from prepar3d folder to a bigger HDD Create blank ORBX folder in your prepar3d folder. Open symlink creator Type of link: Directory Hard Link (/J) Destination (Link): /Prepared directory/ORBX Source (Target) location of actual ORBX directory Create Link
  2. yes and its easy to do.without reinstalling all of your scenery. http://www.avsim.com/topic/484945-how-do-i-update-prepar3d-v3-using-the-new-installers/
  3. The future? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-36854291
  4. your confirmation email should have a download link on it. Make sure that you are logged in to your account at www.wilcopub.com and then try my downloadable products. i've just managed to download ejects and Ibought this in 2011. Hope that this works for you.
  5. This may be worth a look if you don't mind paying http://www.flyaoamedia.com/777-training/ or this when it beomes available http://www.airline2sim.com/videos/
  6. Auto save is very flexible, frequency is set by the user and can be every 60 seconds or less if you wish. You can also tell it how many to keep so as to prevent your saves files overwheming your system. Auto save is only one of MANY brilliant features in FSUIPC Official page & downloads here (there are free and paid for versions available). I use the paid for version. http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Support Forum here http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/ Access to documentation here http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66137-documentation/ And a good Froogle video explaining it here (it also works with P3D) Hope this helps
  7. Can't help on your crash but I highly recommend the autosave feature in FSUIPC as you can load back to where you were shortly before the crash.
  8. I had a major issue with random black clouds. Rebuilding shaders did not help. My solution was to: 1. delete shaders (users\name\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv3\Shaders). Take a back up first just in case.... 2. uninstall prepar3D client. Take a back up first just in case.... 3. reboot 4,. reinstall prepar3D client. This worked.
  9. Whatever you choose, I recommend Process Lasso https://bitsum.com/?inproduct so that you can decide what runs on what core. It is a great tool and it has made my 3770K perform brilliantly.
  10. I particularly recommend Baku http://drzewiecki-design.net/ which was released yesterday. It is an awesome scenery. There are many other great payware sceneries including anything by FSDG http://fsdg-online.com/14-sceneries or PACSIM http://islandsim.com/pacsim-store.html
  11. Good advice if you have FSUIPC http://www.avsim.com/topic/431663-vas-fsuipc-and-fsx/
  12. I have successfully moved ORBX to another drive as I was runing out of space in my P3D drive. All that I needed to do was to create a directory hard link to the new location of ORBX so that it still appears to be within the P3D directory. I used symlink creator to do this as it was a very useful and free program.
  13. would this help? http://secure.simmarket.com/lorby-si-cameraposition-x-fsx-p3d.phtml
  14. I had similar issues with P3DV3.2 crashing randomly. Despite my best efforts I was unable to find the cause so I did a complete reinstallation of P3D. I no longer had the issue after this and began the slow and laborious addition of my many addons (you name it, I have it). However this time I used Simlink Creator to create Directory Hard Links to install my addons (include ORBX) outside of P3D. I also did the same with any P3D directories that are changed during installations; such as gauges, fonts, effects. This means that if I ever have to reinstall P3D all I have to do is to create new links to these folders. I've had no issues thus far and I have lots of room on my P3D drive and performance is better than ever.
  15. No as it says in the readme notes: Is SimSwitch a "migration" tool? No, it is not designed to move an already installed FSX addon to P3D. Its only function is to edit the Windows Registry so that an FSX addon installer that is looking for the FSX folder will be pointed to the P3D folder instead.
  16. If you have vector, run the aiport elevation correction tool for the airports concerned. Hope that this helps.
  17. It's worth having a lok at these: Quito http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=13741&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight%20Simulation&s_language=english&PHPSESSID=tqucmnbd2nme9ht5vp0qa7ph93 Cuzco http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=13741&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight%20Simulation&s_language=english&PHPSESSID=tqucmnbd2nme9ht5vp0qa7ph93 Brazil http://pauloricardofs.blogspot.co.uk/
  18. Why not try Scenery config Editor or similar? https://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/files/latest/download?source=files Scenery config Editor is very versatile and should do what you are looking for without the need to purchase another copy of P3D Here is a link that will tell you more: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/80181-stuff-you-need-1-scenery-config-editor/
  19. a Matrox TripleHead2go also works well without suffering undue FPS loss. http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/displayport/ I use one to drive three monitors and have a fourth screen running from the second port on my graphics card (780Ti)
  20. Have a look at this.. http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=wildlife%20v2&CatID=root&Go=Search
  21. Just add the applicable areas in your scenery.cfg. No other work required.
  22. A new installer has just been released for P3DV3
  23. MyTraffic 6 works perfectly in P3DV3 http://forum.simflight.com/forum/7-mytraffic-support-forum/
  24. 3DV3 is a whole new ball game compared wih 3DV2.5, I have had no OOMs and can run even complex scenery such as Aerosoft EGLL with a PMDG T7 which brought P3DV2.5 to its knees. Also FSCubed makes reinstallation a breeze.
  25. I would buy P3DV3 and appropriate addons (most FSX scenery should work but be advised this is a new product so install one thing at time and test). PMPG for example needs a separate P3D license). P3DV3 is miles better than FSX. As for SSDs put OS (s) on a separate drive from Flightsim, put your flight sim on another SSD and keep scenery in a separate folder away from the flightsim.
