Single channel not changing to CMD

Featured Replies

Not sure whats going on here but on approach i have on the FMA CMD to SINGLE CH on LOC cap and then to CMD but i don't get the CMD appearing so there for i can't engage my 2nd autopilot. i have FD on both NAV RADIOS tuned courses set etc.

i engage the app mode everytime. i'm not doing a flight just loading up the 737 and doing practice landings.

You're doing autolands?

You just hit the 2nd autopilot after you arm APP mode.

What kind of approach and landing are you trying to do? You need to zoom in on the PFD and then take the screenshot. It is so zoomed out so far that essentially everything is unreadable.

yet again red face mike lol i just done a flight to EICK and worked fine because i was thinking you get the yellow flashing dots loc and gs before selecting the 2nd A/P but you don't untill you engage 2nd autopilot then at 1500 RA you get them flashing oops.

sorry if am wasting your time!

But i do have another question that flight i done into EICK it was an RNAV STAR (TISMO1R) app yeh but the landing was an ILS rwy 17 and only cat II capable.

here is where i'm confused, am i right in thinking i can't continue after my STAR as RNAV but will have to switch over to the ILS after my STAR? have a look mike and let me know what you would do?

I don't have any charts for EICK so I can even attempt to answer your question. Sorrry

To fly RNAV approach you must have it selected in FMC. RNAV requires waypoints to be programmed in FMC. If you want to continue RNAV after STAR you have to select RNAV approach before FAF to switch from ILS.

its navigraph i use!

that airport hasn't got RNAV app just RNAV STAR

Vernon Howells

Fly the STAR in LNAV and arm the approach when you are cleared and maybe inside BARNU.

I thought that spin thanks very much!

Also for an IAN app for the 737 ngx how do you go about using this? How do i get it to function?

I know that if RNAV/GPS approach is loaded, and an ILS is available for the same runway, the system simply uses the LOC and G/S for guidance, once captured, since they are more accurate than LNAV and VNAV.

But how do i set the IAN up what indications do you get?
