When I was making the Spirit paint I did notice that several aircraft were named ( although not all ) . Which font did you use ?

Hehe...yes the standard excuse for painters to take a break from the paintshop and enjoy their work. I've dried paint on many a plane using this method. Hehe.

Looks great John! I'll be sure to fly her on a few routes when you're finished "drying the paint" :-) I think I like this Spirit livery the best of them all.

I actually had to paint this livery twice .

Aerosoft modelled their Airbus(ses) on what they had access to and therefore there are " differences " when painting certain liveries but that is where " painters license " comes into effect .

I had the " squares " ( which are not square at all )  set 1 window too far towards the rear and only realised when nearly finished . The Belly section ( where the wings and fuselage combine ) is drawn to a different scale , so had to redraw that section . The black square version is different  ( one square less ) and not found any A320's in the black square livery .

Everyone knows the saying " You wait for a Bus for ages and the three come along " , well in this case it's just two . Another paint drying excercise this time with N587NK " Spirit of Jamaica " from Spirit Airlines .

Note to Steve .

Tried the font you suggested but found a close up on Flickr and hand drew ny own text .

Great paint, how about a clean version (without the "Aerosoft" dirt layer) too.

Don't exactly know what you mean by " Aerosoft dirt layer " as my repaints are neither " clean " or " dirty " , just like real life .

I am sure that anyone here who actually works with aircraft will tell you that most airlines have better things to do than washing and waxing their aircraft after every flight and after looking at ( literally ) thousands of photographs of Airbus(ses) before painting them , all I can say is that the only " clean " Bus I have seen has just come out of the paintshop , or just been delivered .

That other painters decide to make " clean " and " dirty " versions of their paints is fine by me but I have no intention of doing the same as this only creates other problems for the end user ( as seen in the Aerosoft forums ) and now includes having to make 6 versions of the aircraft.cfg for the AirbusX , Airbus Extended and the recently released A320 / 321 .

Funny thing is  that when I first started painting the most " complaints " I received were about my repaints being " clean " .

Check out what Holgi is doing. The standard "Aerosoft" dirt layer is much stronger then normal aircraft with the exception of Air France and maybe China Air. Normal aircraft don't have don't have dirt streaks around the windows and all over the bottom of the aircraft, etc

Btw...if your adding dirt following photographs then your an exception rather than the norm, most repaint artists use the standard kit with the same grime in the same places!

Darryl ,

You are beginning to sound like a broken record , with your comments about " clean " versus " dirty " repaints . As for " checking out " what Holgi does , why should I ? He does his thing , I do mine . You have in the past posted here in the Screenshots forum about the fact that my repaints were " cleaner " than others .

I never said anywhere in my previous post that I make my own dirt LAYERS ( yes , there is more than one ) , I stated that most Airbus(ses) are not spotless , which is not the same thing . I also vary the amount of dirt showing from paint to paint , so they are not all the same .

If you want to comment further , I suggest using PM's as this is a screenshot forum .
