Please advise. I'm running the PMDG J41 voice command version with FSX after a recent purchase. Two getting started problems:

 

FIRST: Probably being a bit dim, but I cant quite work out how to start the program sequence timer running the countdown and starting the sequence of events if I dont press the 'RUN PF' button.

 

After I launch the Configuration Panel, the manual says:

 

1. On the Configuration Panel, press the RUN PF button. FS2Crew will then shut the airplane down and put it into a Cold and Dark state. Note that the time remaining to departure, which starts at plus 30 minutes, will start winding down.

 

Note that running the Pre-Flight events is OPTIONAL. You do not need run the pre-flight events for every flight!

 

No mention of how  get tings started if I dont want to select 'RUN PF'

 

SECOND: When I start the FS Video Marshaller window, (not in Full Screen Mode), the window pops up ok but with no video showing, its just a black box!

Have I missed a setting somewhere. Hav followed the manual ok I think. FSVM panel opens ok and assigned key opens the video player window which can be moved successfully - but no video visible inside the window?

I am interested in this myself.  I always run the pre-flight but those 15 minute waits for a walkaround are somewhat tiring on the 3rd flight, how do you exclude the initial part?

You can't exclude certain sections, but you can fast forward the time down.

I'm also interested in this - how does a company like Southwest Airlines do 20-minute turnarounds with all these pre-flight tasks?  My current process is to press the PF button and wind the timer down to zero, but it's a bit unrealistic. "I'm out for the walk-around.. I'm back from the walk-around and everything looks good," all in the same breath.  Same with passenger boarding - the process starts and ends in a matter of seconds.  No way!

 

Would you be able to add something like a through-flight phase with abbreviated pre-flight flows?

Hi Ben,

 

Where appropriate, the pre-flight flows are already abridged on a 2nd leg.

 

For fast forwarding the time down, you can control the rate at which you fast forward it down.  You don't need to rattle it off in seconds.
