Hi everybody,

I'm writing here trying to solve an issue with FMC of the 777-300ER in particular.

When I load a route on the FMC, program correctly the INIT REF page and uplink the winds both for FPL and for descend the LEGS page does not show any speed/altitude prediction for the flight. Just the constrains but nothing more. My VNAV is still engageable if I press the button two or three times on the MCP (otherwise the CDU shows VNAV UNAVAILABLE) but still no altitudes. I have also noticed that my CDU blinks rapidly sometimes when this issue happens and in the VNAV page the ECON SPD rapidly changes from magenta to white and back again.

In the end I would like to give you some more details:

-) PMDG 777 with Sp1b, fresh install from zero. No updates from previous versions since I ve bought it few days ago.

-) I use Virtual CDU 777 app for ipad connected with the module version 2.4

-) the problem described here happens not at every flight. It seems to be random but I think I am not doing nothing different.

-) I use PFPX to export both FPL and Winds

-) I use active sky next as wx tool but in the PMDG menu I have set not to create wx file for the PMDG since it comes from PFPX.

 

Any idea? I have seen some others have experienced the same problem but I did not understand what causesnit and how to definitly solve if.

Hi,

Could it be possible that Virtual Avionics CDU is only compatible with B777-200 and not with the expansion -300ER? Somebody who uses VA VDU on iPad with the PMDG 777 has experienced this behavior?

Same situation, I noticed the problem after I updated HiFi Next beta version. Yesterday, I flew KLAS-EGLL, I had to change the RWY and the approach, I did as usual but this time I couldn't get the speed and altitude on the leg page in fact what you describe. I noticed that the blinking was connected to the FMC working both the previous and new approaches. I used the V/S to complete the flight.

 

There are other posts connected to the same problem but so far it looks like we're a minority . . .

I have same problem.

I first noticed when you select SID and incorrect RWY then it may happen. After selecting associated with the SID takeoff RWY it usually fixes the problem and LEGS pages shows alts and speeds. But past weeks I used SID and associated with the SID RWY and i had incomplete LEGS page. After takeoff I tried to delete some fixes to go direct and then alts and speed data appear in LEGS page..but not for a long time. After about 5 mins or so LEGS page become blank again. Something is not working right...I guess.

I suggest you rule out the add-on CDU by using the one in the cockpit. Also, the FMS may not beable to complete the calculation of the VNAV path if there is a discontinuity before or after TOC/TOD, and if the final approach and it's associated constraint at the FAF is missing. Troubleshoot your problem; for example, try and simple route like KDFW-KATL SOLDO3 MEI WARRR1  (STAR-FIX-SID) and if that works then increase complexity of plan until you can duplicate problem. Then do us all a favor by letting PMDG know of how to duplicate problem via trouble ticket at support.precisionmanuals.com. Hope this helps.

I know this is an old post, but I encountered the same problem on KBOS - EGLL

 

Fixed by requesting the route in RTE2 ! ( I use PFPX ) 

 

So if people still have problems with it try this.
