Ah very nice thanks.. i hadnt realized the instant replay was even there, though perhaps the built in recorder could be useful if you need to do the recording later after closing the program.. I'm assuming you still need to shrink the resolution down to 1080p (1920x1080) to do the shadowplay recording though?  I'll give this a test later tonight..but so far i did find you need to check off the box that says "allow desktop capture" to recognize the p3d window for recording (so far).

I take that back, i cant get shadowplay to record at all despite the setting.. get the symbol with the slash when i try manual mode at least.

Turn Aero back on.

Its windows 8.1, no aero per say.. i have another win 8.1 x64 machine that seems to work fine for some reason, might be a software conflict perhaps.  Edit:  if i turn off surround mode 5760x1080 and go with 1920x1080 it works at least to record the desktop.. Now i can capture some NYCX shots soon :)  It would be nice to be able to fly a route at 5760 and save it then replay it at 1080p though (i guess with the recorder option in P3D or maybe the SimDirector options but i havent toyed with that yet)

But 5760x1080 isn't any screen format that I'm aware of with regards to video. 16:9 is a widescreen... your screen is at 48:9...

To retain the 1080p vertical resolution with that video, you'd still cut the left and right sides off. So I don't see how it's possible to do what you think you should be able to do.

Lowering my settings and making a moderate overclocking in my i5 3570k up to 4.2 Ghz, I finally got to fly over Manhattan with a reasonable amount of frames.
