piolot2atc

I don't know of any really good ATC addon for FSX, let alone for P3D... I once hoped ProATC/X would be it but so far it's not what everyone hoped it would be.

I never heard of Pilot2ATC before, I have to say. Since I am still interested in a good ATC addon I looked at the site but didn't like that HUGE interface at all (taking up half of the screen...!). I want an ATC addon that you hardly notice...

Only suitable for dual screen I think . Have downloaded the trial will try when finished trialling vox atc . Seems very little development going on on voxatc . Piolot2atc pretty new has not got all the features I want navigraph support, traffic  and several I don't want but potential depending on how good the core atc is.

If you want the most realistic ATC available, sign up for the trial period at Pilotedge.net.

Pilotedge.net looks interesting but only seems to offer US coverage.

I want the most realistic OFFLINE ATC... ^_^

Is proatc any good. The website suggests so but how about user experience. I like the idea of a good offline atc, but £40 is alot to pay without knowing how good it is.

Anyone able to give a brief overview?

Try this...

Thanks id never have thought of that. Unfortunately the majority of reviews are from a while ago and things have moved on since, hence the question.

The only ATC program that meets these requirements is PROATC X. The new version 1.4 adds  pretty good AI ATC interaction (Note: not control). Many of the original issues were corrected, but I still don't think it's there yet. I've reported at least one issue with incorrect SID transitions, (Which was acknowledged as a problem by PATC and hopefully fixed in the next update) and may be others. It IMHO is the one with the most potential, if the developer continues updates. Another option which has the features you list, except updated NAV  data, which is rather old (Although it does update it's airport DB with MakeRwys utility), is Proflight Emulator (PFE) It takes a couple of steps more to setup, since it uses the program PF2000 (Yes from FS2000 days) to format it's data, but works rather well. and is rather full featured. Full ATC control, AI interaction both on the ground and in the air, SID/STAR support (But you have to set it up yourself, no dynamic assignment like PATC, similar to the way Radar Contact works.), emergencies, and Oceanic support with simulated SELCAL calls. It has recently been updated to work in PFE. The other possible option, but I'm not sure if it works with P3D is RC4.3 which is a good ATC utility in it's own right!! Here's a sample video of PFE (In FSX though) in action. (Note the divert to alternate call during landing was my own mistake not the programs.)

Thanks

Great information thank you for this, looks like I will wait before jumping on the aftermarket ATC bandwagon
