October 8, 201411 yr Hi Gang I just tried to do the v2.4 update patch and got this pop up near the end of the installation.. Could not write value COMPLETE to key \Products\A#####################################D\Features Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personel I hid my key. What am I doing wrong. The patch is run under my admin permissions. I am a registered P3D owner. I did a full fresh v2.3 installation. Thanks Ken
October 8, 201411 yr Did you follow Rob Ainscough's 2.3 ---> 2.4 patch procedure step by step? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/452190-prepar3d-v24-patch-will-be-released-monday-92914/ Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
October 8, 201411 yr Just a suggestion, you may need to just uninstall and reinstall the complete v2.4. That is what I did and and have no problems, however I do not have any 3rd party add on software. I will not add any scenery or aircraft til LM gets everything sorted out. That may be a while. Cheers Regards Lamar Wright

Thanks Ken Hi Ken, There is now a way to update from v.2.3 to 2.4: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=8684 BTW, no need to hide that key. Those of us who have seen the error message are now sick of seeing it. To my knowledge, there are only two - the one you are seeing as an Academic licence holder and a second specific to to the Professional version of P3D. Mike
October 9, 201411 yr Author Ok, thanks guys. Looks like an UNinstall/Install is in order. I am a little disappointed LM hasn't managed to make the updates easier. Why are other big complicated programs so easy to update while P3D can be (is) a total pain? FaxCap
October 9, 201411 yr I am a little disappointed LM hasn't managed to make the updates easier. +1 It makes me think twice about adding other addons knowing that I'll probably have to do a complete reinstall each time they bring out a new version! But at least they offer a proper uninstallation option unlike Orbx/FTX. Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. Internet: 1 Gig Fibre. HoneyComb Throttle & Flight System. October 9, 201411 yr ORBx probably can't get their heads around why anyone would want to uninstall one of their products Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

FaxCap Hi Ken, Before rushing to uninstall/reinstall v2.3 why not give this a try: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=8684 Worked perfectly for me....and I have a load of Addons installed. At first sight the post may seem a little daunting but, in fact, the actual steps to patch successfully are quite few and straightforward. On writing the guide I found it difficult to know at what level it should be pitched as computer literacy varies enormously. Hopefully, I have erred on the safe side. Nothing to be lost by giving it a shot, and think of the time saved! You will still have the Uninstall/reinstall option. Cheers! Mike

As far as I can tell, the patch applied itself OK, & I have not noticed any problems with T3P add-ons.
