FsRaas2.0 & FSX

Featured Replies

Hello.

I'm hoping somone might be able to help with an issue trying to get FsRaas20 to work with FSX.  I can't seem to get it working correctly.

It says "connected" but when in the sim and taxiing to a runway, FsRaas says "Approaching" but that's all.  It will do the same thing at any airport.  I'm not sure what the issue could be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Anyone have any experience with this?

Interesting.  I never heard of the 5.1 problem.  I have serious doubt that's the case (because it works fine in FS9) but I'll check it out.

The other part about using the Pet Dowson tool has already been done.

If anyone does have experience with FsRaas on FSX please let me know.

Thanks!

Well, the only 5.1 settings I could find are in the Sound Properties and 5.1 is not enabled.

I'm really hoping somone might be able to assist with this as I don't know what the problem is and the author of the software appears not to be answering e-mail.

Does this happen at a particular location or at all airports? If the first case is true, you might be looking at a problem with the AFCAD file of the airport, "telling" the RAAS what to call out and look for.

Nope.  Everywhere.

I assume you are talking about RAASPro. You need to download Make Runways program and place this in your main fsx folder and run it. You can get this utility from the same location as FSUIPC. RAASPro will then 'see' all of your runways.

I have no idea what RAASPro is.  The specific one I"m talking about is FsRaas20 (fsraas20.zip).  It does however use the Make Runways application from Pete Dowson and that has already been done as mentioned above.

I think Raaspro is the payware product.

Can you take a look into the files make rwys has created to check if they seem valid? Maybe something is off on that end and the raas freeware can't read the runway numbers or something. Guessing, sorry.

Things look fine as far as I can tell.

Hard to believe nobody is using this.

That's not the conclusion arising from the low participation. It could be that many are using this but that nobody is interested or able to tell what's wrong. Hence the silence.

I'm not just interested if people are having issues with it.  I'm also interested if people are using it successfully.  It would be nice to know it's possible so I know whether to keep trying or not.  The documentation says it's supposed to work but I'm not so sure.
