October 9, 201411 yr Hello. I'm hoping somone might be able to help with an issue trying to get FsRaas20 to work with FSX. I can't seem to get it working correctly. It says "connected" but when in the sim and taxiing to a runway, FsRaas says "Approaching" but that's all. It will do the same thing at any airport. I'm not sure what the issue could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
October 9, 201411 yr Anyone have any experience with this? Not knowing what FSRAAS was, I did a Google search out of curiosity and found this link that may be helpful (or not). http://www.mountain-air.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=16996&sid=a29aba5608ec6cd601e829f307269122 Stevan Makarevich
October 9, 201411 yr Author Interesting. I never heard of the 5.1 problem. I have serious doubt that's the case (because it works fine in FS9) but I'll check it out. The other part about using the Pet Dowson tool has already been done. If anyone does have experience with FsRaas on FSX please let me know. Thanks!
October 14, 201411 yr Author Well, the only 5.1 settings I could find are in the Sound Properties and 5.1 is not enabled. I'm really hoping somone might be able to assist with this as I don't know what the problem is and the author of the software appears not to be answering e-mail.
October 14, 201411 yr Does this happen at a particular location or at all airports? If the first case is true, you might be looking at a problem with the AFCAD file of the airport, "telling" the RAAS what to call out and look for.
October 14, 201411 yr I assume you are talking about RAASPro. You need to download Make Runways program and place this in your main fsx folder and run it. You can get this utility from the same location as FSUIPC. RAASPro will then 'see' all of your runways. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 14, 201411 yr Author I have no idea what RAASPro is. The specific one I"m talking about is FsRaas20 (fsraas20.zip). It does however use the Make Runways application from Pete Dowson and that has already been done as mentioned above.
October 14, 201411 yr I think Raaspro is the payware product. Can you take a look into the files make rwys has created to check if they seem valid? Maybe something is off on that end and the raas freeware can't read the runway numbers or something. Guessing, sorry.
October 15, 201411 yr That's not the conclusion arising from the low participation. It could be that many are using this but that nobody is interested or able to tell what's wrong. Hence the silence.
October 15, 201411 yr Author I'm not just interested if people are having issues with it. I'm also interested if people are using it successfully. It would be nice to know it's possible so I know whether to keep trying or not. The documentation says it's supposed to work but I'm not so sure.
