Their used to be a link up on the pinned topics on how to update to a newer version, currently I am running ver 2.3, would like to go to the new version 2.4 over at flightsim store.

 

If I remember at best,

 

1- you first download the new version

2- then uninstall libraries from older version

3- then go to control panel, and then uninstall older version, which in my case would be 2.3.

 

I would appreciate if someone could help me out with the rest of the info, to do it in the right order.

You are correct as Wayne has said. The pinned post described the older more complicated approach so I removed it. I will add a new one.

Question / have been away from fsx for a little while and just updated from 1.4 to 2.4 and everything seems to be working fine/ should have I unistalled 1.4 then installed 2.4 ? How should I proceed going forward ? thanks

For 1.4 you should have least uninstalled the libraries before installing 2.4 I think, going forward follow the pinned post on updating.

What happens if some dummy does not uninstall the libraries or the previous version first?

Well that comment only applies if updating 2.2 or earlier. If you forgot try uninstalling libraries and installing them again.

Thanks, going from 2.3 to 2.4.  I didn't notice any problems but will go ahead and do that anyhow.
