Figured it out / you have to download as a zip file not the default mode / then extract / place all files in one folder and run installer

Trying to install the big island from the hawaii photoreal project and having no luck. I downloaded all four files however getting message that files are corrupt. 3 of the files are bin files the 4th is the installer. Anyone install this scenery successfully ? thanks

Have been watching this thread and others and took the plunge this weekend / installed fsx/ se ( uninstalled disk fsx) on seperate drive. I have a 2600 k over clocked to 4.5 and gtx570. So far I definetly see an improved performance. I have seen posts that refer to smoothness and never really took much credence in them however after installing steam I am sold on this concept. I have also seen an increase in fps anywhere from 3/4 fps in demanding situations up to 10/12 fps in less demanding scenarios. My addons include Rex, asn, ftx global, fsdt airports, flyTampa pmdg ngx, a2a cessna, dx10 fixer etc. For folks on the fence I say give it a try in my case definetly worth it.

Thinking it is time to upgrade my card currently I have gtx 570 (system 2600k overclocked to 4.5) I run fsx with pmdg , utx, orbx global, rex, asn. If I upgraded to gtx 970 what kind of performance increase could I anticipate ? My system runs well however when running pmdg ngx with stormy weather my fps definelty suffers and I was thinking the new card would help fps in moderate to heavy weather situations. I also was considering trying prepar3d and now that it utilizes the gpu more. Suggestions Thank-you

Thanks for the suggestion however I believe I solved it. I have d3d overrider working for my fsx (dx 10 fixer) Once I disabled the d3d overrider no issues. (this was also fouling up my windows movie maker) thanks again

Thanks for the suggestions but I have already tried these and still no go.

I turned up my anti aliasing to 12XS in nividia inspector and this solved the problem without effecting my fps.

I recently reinstalled fs2004 on my computer windows 7 nividia gtx 570 and love the high fps I have been getting especially with active sky weather turned up. My current problem however is that I can't get fs2004 to work in windowed mode. Upon intial startup no plane is shown in startup menu unless I go to full screen. Also when in the game when I try to go from full screen to windowed mode the screen blacks out or freezes and I can only view it if I go back to full screen. The main reason I want to operate in windowed mode is that I have two monitors and would like do work etc. on the second monitor during long flights. I have tried turning off aero and changing suggested compatabilty settings via fs2004 properties but no go. Any ideas ? thanks

I just recently reinstalled fs2004 and have really been enjoying the high fps I have been getting with everthing maxed out. (ai traffic, rex, active sky, various addon airports gex,utx and ifly 737) My one issue is jaggies / shimmering. I used nicks guide in simforums (2010) however still getting the jaggies /shimmering. Does someone have a current nivia inspector setting ? (nividia driver I have is 344.65 /inspector version 1.9.7.3) Thank-you

Question / have been away from fsx for a little while and just updated from 1.4 to 2.4 and everything seems to be working fine/ should have I unistalled 1.4 then installed 2.4 ? How should I proceed going forward ? thanks

I currently run my sim on a 40 inch led tv (very happy with visuals) and another small monitor for fmc, radar contact etc. I was thinking of building a home cockpit but once I started pricing out the various components I was unsure I wanted to lock myself into one type of plane.( I most frequently fly pmdg 737 however I still like to fly on occasion other airliners and some ga planes) So now I was thinking of purchasing a 65 inch led (while measuring components for 737 it appears a 65 inch would allow me to display instruments at close to real world sizes / capt windows view 31 inches wide 15.7 inches height / captain's side mip 37.4 inches wide 14 inches high) which would allow me to fly different planes however the flight instruments would be close to real world sizes. Thoughts /opinions thanks

I appreciate your help / with the fps increase I have experienced it's a small issue that I can live with.

I have completed all other steps but still same issue. After completing profile do I just start fsx regular way? I feel as if the mod hasn't been applied.

I clicked on silver addition button and added fsx exe. Any thing else that I am missing or should have done ?

First off I love the dx10 fixer I have seen a huge increase in fps. I have read the dx-10 document and installed direct3doverrider however any time I resize my fmc ect on my second monitor I get a neverending hourglass. Is the direct3doverrider suppose to fix this or is this an ongoing issue that hasn't been solved yet? thanks

I just installed pnw demo to check out orbx. I have never purchased because I tend to fly tube liners on the us east coast as well as Hawaii for my va's. Question: With ftx central if I leave it on NA and fly outside the covered region don't the default textures created by orbx stay active ? (thus creating what global ftx is going to deliver) I am just looking at orbx now because the area I fly in will now be covered albeit with something less than the dedicated regions. Explanation for a novice please. (right now I have both GEX and UTX for the regions I fly in)

I solved my issue it was the new fs recorder beta that was causing the crash. I uninstalled it and now my missions are working.

I just saw your post and I am having same issue. I have fsdt airports, numerous aircraft addons, rex, ultimate terrain, ultimate traffic 2 and gex. (2600k oc 4.4 nividia 570) My recent new installs were rex essentials and cap sim 737/727. I have no other issues with my fsx. let me know if you find a solution.

update to anyone considering purchase: purchased latin vfr bermuda and fps hit not bad. 20-30 fps dependent on weather (rex/ pmdg ngx).

I am trying to decide which scenery to purchase : FWI bermuda airport scenery or latin vfr 's bermuda scenery. I am leery about purchasing latin vfr because I have their miami scenery and it is has horrible fps. ( I have a 2600k overclocked to 4.4) Anyone have the FWI scenery ? thanks

Thanks guys it was utx that was causing it. I reinstalled fsdt hilo it detected utx and the issue is solved.

Today I flew into hilo airport runway 26 and noticed that to my right there was a square landclass next to the airport that looks like a large island. I have hawaii fsdt airports, gex tropics, utx usa, fsg genesis, rex essentials. The only new thing I have added recently is rex essentials. I have not noticed this before. Any suggestions for a fix. thanks
