So.. i made a NGX-RTE file for Secret Shuttle mission and i'd like to share if anyone is interested. It has custom waypoints, Mercury NDB (MCY), Pyramid NDB (PYD) and AR51 (Area 51 airport)- and a tutorial how to change default plane to PMDG NGX 736... https://www.dropbox.com/s/vx435t8mflwcjkn/PMDG%20NGX%20Flightplan%20Secret%20Shuttle%20Mission.zip

Here's a link to a video tutorial on Jim Keir's excellent FSX Mission Editor (FSXME): I've been using FSXME for a couple of years and I've made this tutorial to helpwith the rather steep learning curve. Hope you find it useful. Cheers - Dai.

I just recently, after about four months, tried a mission in FSX and had a CTD. This is the sequence of events; Step 1; chose a mission and went to briefing page. Step 2; Chose a default mission and clicked "Fly". Step 3; Mission loaded showing textures and in "Pause Mode" Step 4; Pressed the "P" key to take out of Pause and FSX immediately Crashes to desktop. I reverted back to the default fsx.cfg file with no luck and still crashed. Step5; reset all settings inside FSX.CFG to default settings and still CTD. I checked the mission folders both in the root of FSX and in my documents folder and they are all there and seem to be intact. I have a ton of scenery add on's but don't see how that could cause the problem unless they tax the resources too much. I have been flying MSFS since BAO so I am extremely adept to the workings of the program. Short of reinstalling FSX is there an obvious fix that I can make. I have been BETA Testing the new piggy back Combat Pilot Program by Mad Catz which is about to be released but they say nothing in their files should have changed the mission configurations. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix. Thanks, fisheye PS. Have most of the ORBX sceneries, FSDT airports, and others. Could they have added a mission and changed something upon installation?

Just completed mission #2 Ken Stalling did for Milviz's Baron. Excellent job Ken... feel like we've flown together now. You might want to check why you keep repeating "climb to 9,000 MSL" over and over again though after heading back to the field.

I've completed several missions in FSX and tried completing 747 test flight but I just couldn't seem to get out of the stall at the first test. My first try was full throttle and nose down at 5 degrees, didn't work, I just fell out of the sky. Second try full throttle and nose down 5 degrees trying to bank slightly from left to right, didn't work, same with first try results. Can anyone please help? I'm eager to finish this mission....

Hi Folks I'm working on a mission/job for the airport's Job Boards. I need to inhibit my job from being generated at small airports with short runways I've populated GeneratedAirport - GeneratedAirport_Current with an appropriate MinRunwayLength value. Unfortunately that's not inhibiting my job's generation at small airports. Guessing that only the SimMissionUI.ScenarioMetadata and Career.CareerMissionMetadata are evaluated by the Job Board's script. I also had a brief play with / guess at a LUA script, in Career.CareerMissionMetadata - DisplayRequirements <CareerRequirements>return ( get_runway_length('{8D625BDF-2FF3-4583-9CC7-B70707AE5816}') >= 2743 ) </CareerRequirements> For test purposes - I've forced an increased frequency of generation. by temporarily raising the Career.CareerMissionMetadata - TemplateWeight to 5000. I also noticed a couple of unexpected aspects - - Very small airports consistently generate my jobs as a high proportion of total, whilst larger airports, (blue), only generate one or two. - Some specific airports consistently generate an unusually high number of these jobs. (e.g. Hoonah 7 or 8) Any pointers/tips would be much appreciated. Either by reply, or if required, PM me. ATB Paul

Hi All, The mission compass display was designed back when monitors had standard 4:3 aspect ratio displays. Most everyone now has a widescreen monitor, so the mission compass appears stretched horizontally. With some detective work I have found a way to correct it. In your FSX gauges folder, look for the file "missionpanels.cfg" and make a backup. Open it in notepad and scroll down to the [Window00] section. Despite rather standard-looking entries, many are overriden by FSX internal code. For example, the 'window_size' and 'window_pos" entries are totally ignored. So no help in fixing the problem. I also discovered the "size_mm" value can be commented out completely with no effect. In fact, the easiest way to change the aspect ratio of the gauge00 in this window I found is to remove it (comment it out). Then I was able to change the compass display's aspect ratio simply by changing values on the gauge00= line. The third and fourth parameter then directly control the width and height of the gauge. For my 16:10 apect ratio monitor I made the following changes: [Window00] ;size_mm=98,123 // this line is commented out ... ;gauge00=Missions!POI, 0, 0, 98, 123 // original gauge00=Missions!POI, 0, 0, 82, 100 // My settings for 16:10. For 16:9 displays, try 75 instead of 82 I haven't tested this fully in other missions but in simple ones with just the mission pointer it looks much better. David CYXE
