November 25, 201411 yr It appears the crash was caused by FE.dll. This indicates you have a texture problem on an aircraft repaint or an AI aircraft. November 25, 201411 yr Author Nothing to do with microsoft.net then? MTX or PMDG.... How can you tell it was FE.DLL crash? Vernon Howells
November 26, 201411 yr Disregard fe.dll. You evidently had crashes after disabling your AI program. The Event Type is a Microsoft.net error (CLR20R3). Problem signature 04 indicates the module where the error occurred. In your case it says "System". So your system caused the crash and FSX just happened to be running. You can try running the Microsoft.net Repair Tool - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2698555 and see if that fixes the problem. Look in your Installed Updates and look for Microsoft.net updates. If anything recent was installed (i.e., before this crash), then I would remove that update (not to worry, Microsoft Update will update it again but at least you can run FSX and see if this fixed the problem). If it fixed the problem, then it was one of the dotnet updates. Perhaps it did not install correctly. But first I would try the Microsoft Repair Tool. Maybe it will see that a registry entry was not made (which can happen if you have an anti-virus program running. Those programs were made to watch your system and, if something tried to mess around with your registry, it would not let it happen. Result: Frequent FSX crashes. You can also try running the Microsoft.net Verification Tool which will make sure your dotnet is installed correctly and up-to-date. I looked at your crash report and I see nothing wrong with the versions that loaded though. They are the versions I have installed. November 26, 201411 yr Author I haven't disabled an AI traffic addons yet! But i did run windows update and there was a few microsoft.net packages to be updated. I hope this has solved it. Vernon Howells
November 26, 201411 yr Author got that crash again jim. do you think my fsx is messed up? Vernon Howells
November 26, 201411 yr You went from an "unknown" faulting module (which has now gone away, never to be seen again), to a Microsoft.net error. According to the Internet, there is a problem with Microsoft.net 2.0. There's a programming error with one of the FSX addons you own and it is evidently calling dotnet 2.0 and creating a crash. Did you know that Microsoft.net and Microsoft Visuals make your computer and applications run properly? I would run the verification tool on Microsoft.net 2.0 and make sure it is installed properly. It is showing the proper version information but something could be corrupted. You also could uninstall Microsoft.net 2.0 and then reinstall it. You can verify whether your versions are properly installed and up-to-date by using the .Net Framework Setup Verification Tool User's Guide - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx. What really old FSX addon did you just install before getting this error? Something really old like maybe FSInn? FSCo-Pilot? Here's some links to read about CLR20r3 errors: http://techisolutions.blogspot.com/2013/04/clr20r3-p9-systemcomponentmodelwin32.html http://mrpfister.com/programming/demystifying-clr20r3-error-messages/ Hope this helps. November 27, 201411 yr Author Done that verification tool last night said it was all there! How do i uninstall it? And will i just let windows reinstall it afterwards? Not got fscopilot or fsinn just ukscenery? But no scenery loads up during fsx start. I ran that repair tool and started fsx many times seems good for now! Vernon Howells
November 27, 201411 yr Hi Vernon, I had a similar problem recently, but it mainly happened with Aerosoft's new Airbus A318...A321. By searching through forums I came across a hint about a faulty simconnect. Although I had never experienced any simconnect problem I tried to re-install the latest simconnect. It gave me the option "repair" which I chose ... and the CTDs have gone! You might give it a try.
