Orbx Australia default airports

Featured Replies

After purchasing orbx Australia a while back i thought I would give it a try out tonight, I have noticed that the airports look exactly the same as default?. Can someone tell me if this is the case ( with orbx England there were given a makeover)

Many thanks

You are right. The first ORBX scenery was the Australia areas and they didn't do much with the airports. You even need to get good AFCADs for them. That being said, since then they have come out with wonderful sceneries for various airports, my favorites are Cairns, Coffs Harbor, Alice Springs, Broome and I will soon acquire Canberra. Melbourne is okay, not great. Brisbane, you might do some research on due to the initial problems with the FPS there. Various of the small airports are gems, like Caloundra and Aero Pelican.

Hi

You should try the freeware airports from OZx, there is over 380 of them in Aus and they are designed to sit with the Orbx scenery.

....alll free Orbx airports for Australia. All are certainly of payware quality, and some in my opinion are better than some of Orbx's payware sceneries.... (CEF4 Airdrie... *cough!*).

Cheers.

Be aware that not all Orbx's payware airports are P3DV2 compatible. I think all their freeware ones are done, but you'd have to check them individually.

AFAIK, the SP improvements are to landclass, vector and POI objects only - I don't think they've enhanced default airports at all, in AU.

As far as I know none or a very limited number were given an afcad upgrade. SP upgrades were for landclass and vector issues and the most recent upgraded the night lighting to the same standard as FTXG aswell.

Check out OZx and Ant's Scenery. Great freeware scenery additions for bush, GA and airliner flying.
