Something maybe wrong with pmdg 777

So at 25,000 ft Mach 1 = 602 knots, Mach .84 = 505.68 - not very far from what is showing in the O.P.'s post at 27,000 ft. At 35,000 ft, Mach 1 = 576.5 knot, Mach .84 = 484.2 knots.

The table was based on the standard atmosphere model (ISA). In real-world conditions, the actual TAS vs. Mach at a given altitude will vary from day-to-day based on the air temperature.

This is what Boeiing says about Vmo/Mmo - and it should know!

http://www.recreationalflying.com/tutorials/groundschool/VMO_MMO_Limitations_Review.pdf

Yeah, but that is old.....before we had the LR......back then and as far as I know we had a constant Vmo untill Mmo becomes limiting, which is what I was talking about before in respect to the 772ER.

Now with the new 772LR it seems that Vmo is not fixed even while Mmo is not yet limiting.

(see the link I posted above which has a graph in it with variable Mmo)

yep I agree.

Yeah, but that is old.....

Have you got an updated source?

Howdy All

B777-300ER VMO increases from Sea Level (330 KIAS) to 350 knots at altitude, where it intersects the M.89 MMO limit (thereafter the IAS of MMO decreases with altitude. The altitude at which 350 intersects with .89 depends on temperature but is usually around FL300 or so.

The -300ER has a different VMO to the -300 and 200's owing (I was told many years ago) to the raked wingtip. For a diagram of the -300ER VOM/MMO from the AFM, see : http://forum.avsim.net/topic/458015-bug-report-b777-300er-vmo/

yes, and that was the new thing for me.

and that is normal, has allways been like that, except that it is .87 for the 200ER.

(I am just trying to highlight the new from the old here)

That would be the link to Kens earlier post.

I have mentioned that link above already but Ken has posted it again now also.

No text document, but the graph sais it all.

That's an AVSIM link with no supporting evidence.

Gerry Howard

That's an AVSIM link with no supporting evidence.

ah ok.

So if Ken, who sais he is a real world check capt with 15 years on the 777, sais he has that from the official 777 AFM (that is an onboard document), then you dont believe him nor his document.

Fine by me.

I believe very little of what I read on the internet.

So if you don't believe what rw pilots  say  than guess you don't believe anyone  who post in here than I guess

huh don't get it  care to explain, unless your referring to a simple spelling  mistake

It it clearer assuming 777simmer meant "says"?

ACHTUNG: Grammar Polizei spotted!  <_<

Enrique Vaamonde

I didn't bring up the spelling mistake - its meaning was obvious..
