Airbus FCU knobs

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have some questions about FCU knobs for Airbus. Here is my first question:

(By the way, got the difference between TRK/CRS/DTK/HDG!)

1) When you are in selective mode and you push HDG knob, the plane will first calculate where you are, then where our F-PLN is then it wil arm NAV in blue. After, it will display INTCPT on the F-PLN to show us where we are going to intercept the F-PLN. But we should be at 1NM from the F-PLN to go to managed mode (or else, it won't arm NAV). You should also be able to have your F-PLN on the ND.

1) What happens If I push my HDG knob if my F-PLN is closer than 1NM? It won't arm NAV, isn't it? Something else?

2) What happens If I push my ALT knob if I am in HDG and if my F-PLN is closer than 1NM? Nothing?

3) When F-COM says that our F-PLN should be visible on ND, can we use the EFIS Control panel to adjust tge range or do we have to be at a special range?

Thanks a lot

Here we go again ,

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/456049-a320-fcu-knobs/

Asked and answered .

For anyone else , don't waste your time , as any answers you give will be ignored if they don't fit in with the OP's own thoughts on the subject .

Just goes to prove that even with a pilots manual in front of you , you still don't know anything . This includes every topic started here ( or the other site ) .

So much for promising not to come back ( with any new " questions " until after Christmas .

Hey! Hello!

Excuse me, but I didn't talk about 1NM and stuff!

In that post, I asked wht would happen If I would turn the knobs without pulling them.

Here, I am asking what would happen If I PUSH the knob when I am LESS than 1NM than the F-PLN! Nothing to do with my previous threads (I won't ask the same question If someone has given me an answer! ;) )

Maybe my question is not clear?

Thanks!!!!

You cannot be serious . Asking a clear question would be ( in your case ) a first .

The difference between pulling and pushing the knobs was explained ( in depth ) in ( many of the ) other topics you started , and does not need explaining again .

Hopefully others will see that answering these questions will be an utter waste of your own time and bandwith on AVSIM .

Ok, you are not understanding my questions.

F-COM Autoflight says that you have to AT LEAST be at 1NM from your F-PLN to go to NAV. I am asking you, question 1, what happens If I push my knob when I am, for example, 0,4NM from the F-PLN?

Will it still arm NAV? Will it try to calculate our INTCPT point?

In question 2, I am asking the same question but with ALT knob. What will happen?

In question 3, we know that FMGS calculates the INTCPT point. So we have to have our F-PLN on our ND. Do we have to be at a special range ( 10, 20, 30, 40...etc.) or should we just need to have the F-PLN on our ND (so even If we chose 320, it will still calculate INTCPT)?

Voila!

PS: Please be nice with me....thanks.

Take care,

Must not make sarcastic reply....

Thanks James...

I understood your question perfectly well .

It seems that Google translate has a lot to answer for ( in your case , as English is my native tongue ) and my comment above was made in SARCASM mode , although to be clearer  I should have mentioned that .

At least you have dropped the pretence of needing information for your " school ptoject " , unless you were training other Airbus pilots at the time .

Maybe the school project gave me more determination to learn and understand? ;)

We could continue to answer your questions and we'd all be here for the next 12 months. You need to find a better way of getting the info.

You could try finding the information for yourself - but I still doubt that you'd understand it.

I don't see this going anywhere (expect down, and that pretty fast!), so I'll lock this.

Just a little thought before, though: If you guys don't want to answer, that's perfectly fine, but don't start picking on the OP, just keep it to yourself. Some people will always want to help if they can.
