March 10, 20188 yr Author Next up... Royal Navy Type 45 destroyer. Still some way to go but stealth ships are easier to do...
March 13, 20188 yr Hi Henrik, I have a question for you about the new 400m ships. Why do the 400m ships make evasive maneuvers on smaller ships? All ships that I put on the size of the pier, go without problems! only the 400m giants are afraid of smaller ships! What can this be and how do you solve this problem ?? The 360M ships do not have the problem, only the larger ones.
March 13, 20188 yr In the mediterranean sea, many of Eurocargo's ships will be sailing, will a ship be in the new package as well? So a type of ship as the "Eurocargo Ravenna" or "Eurocargo Salerno" for example? Heiko

Hi Heiko, The evasive maneuvers with ships on parallel courses do indeed depend on ship size meaning that larger ships needs more parallel space in order not to perform evasive manuevers even if the ships were not going to hit each other... All my routes have for simplicity been spaced with 500 meters in parallel distance to avoid these manuevers. Regards to the Eurocargo ships... you know that the more is put on the wish list the longer it will take :D Henrik
March 17, 20188 yr Hi Henrik, that with the Eurocargo ships was only a question. You do not have to create them extra !! As always, I am very happy with the ships you publish !! I really hope that this does not lead to any delay, since I'm almost bursting with curiosity about the new package! My question regarding evasive maneuvers was related only to the new large container ships (MSC Zoe, CMA CGM Zheng-He, CSCL Globe)! These are the largest and should therefore make no evasive maneuvers on smaller ships! It would have to be the other way around! Since these giants do but I ask myself if you have changed something in the programming in the opposite approach to earlier in the example 360m ships? So that the giants think that they are smaller and have to avoid others! Excuse me, but it's a bit hard to write what I mean exactly!

Well, in the real world, at open sea, it has nothing with size to do, who is giving way to who. Google "Rules of the Road at Sea" (colregs). Edited March 17, 20188 yr by soerennielsen

Google "Rules of the Road at Sea" (colregs). Unfortunately the sim does not really consider navigation rules. Maneuvers are also rather unrealistic so the best is to keep the ships distanced from each other which again complicates route planning a lot. Below the first sea trial with the Type 45 destroyer model. Still Work-In-Progress, but she floats :D

It was just meant for Heiko, so he does not believe that just because you are the biggest everything else have to give way. And by the way, thanks for your fantastic work.
March 19, 20188 yr Hi soerennielsen, what do you mean by that? Try to put the ships of the size of the pier and leave one after the other! Then you see what happens and what I mean!

Then you see what happens and what I mean! I think I miss read your post. You speak about in port, I of the open sea. You about in the simulator, I about real life. Sorry about that, its two different things. And then again, all precautions should be taken, by both ships, to avoid collisions, in the simulator and in real life. But as Henrik say, the simulator has its limits. And in the simulator it is not "As real as it gets".

April 15, 20188 yr Author A few more for the next update... If they look alike, it is not because I have gone lazy - it is the same ship before and after conversion to crude oil tanker.
