January 8, 201511 yr ...You don't! But there are some things that may help. 1: Give yourself a close haircut. About 1/8" should do it. This prevents you from pulling out what is left of one's hair. 2: Do not reinstall windows and then... 3: Install FSX immediately afterwards. Give it a week....at least! I have spent the last week doing all of the above. I fondly thought that transferring stuff over from my old HDD to my spinky new Samsung 850 EVO 1Tb SSD would be a breeze. WRONG! At some points I had so many windows open I was pasting things back into where they came from (overwrite=1) then wondering, for at least 15 minutes, why nothing had changed. On top of that Windows kept dragging up more updates, I got sidetracked into whipping W7 into some semblance of a past life and farting about with Firefox and Thunderbird etc. etc. etc. Controls got the hump and sulked until I teased them back to work and to cap it all the wife kept on about 'shopping'. I mean! :rolleyes: On the plus side restarting windows has become a source of entertainment, at least for a while (Sooo speedy!) Also restarting FSX is almost orgasmic. Click icon wait 30 seconds and fly, it's obscene. Thankfully, although not fully furnished, FSX is ready to go for Saturday. See ya. (hysteria) The World is divided into two groups. January 9, 201511 yr Ron, going through the same thing, what a nightmare. Just wanted to update my "perfect" FSX to a faster box (single FPS) and running into all kinds of issues. Activate FSX, no internet connection, video card not compatible with FSX , activation code incorrect please try again, can't install FSX into the root directory can't find...etc..etc! Sorry, but getting to old for this nonsense! I'm real close to discarding this whole effort and going fishing instead..ugh! Cheers :unsure: Martin
