Further Engine ITT adjustments

Hi 777200LRF, I think the fuel reset switch was fixed by AtlanticFlyer. It should work, but may require you to press it a couple of times for it to register. Have you tried doing that?

Sorry 0.5 is delayed until tonight, wasn't happy with the low power ITT and it was getting late, so I need to do some tweaking there tonight.

Unfortunately I can't seem to get AAM v2.2 to import my data table as it won't load the file so I can't get the throttle settings spot on. You'll find you need to adjust throttle a tiny bit during initial climb to maintain 36.9 PSI.

I'll have a look after I get the next version out, see if there's any issues there.

Are you also using Bert's other fixes?

Ok, v0.5 beta released!

BONUS fixes:

  1.  I've fixed the cycling of the fuel pumps sound instead of staying on until turning it off - see the README.

Now that ITT is at a reasonable level for most flight conditions, I will continue to tweak, and I will also focus on:

  • Fixing/improving battery/gen/BUS behaviour
  • Fixing/improving CAWS display

Hi Autogyro

Thanks for the latest engine mods. Not sure how the PC12 bus system works but the problem is I think you can only have one Generator entry per engine. I have it working with one gen. split and allowing both gen1 and gen2 to show off and on independently both showing volts and discharge. PM me if you think you can use it.

Hi pve,

Yeah that's a good idea, I'll incorporate something to make the generators more independent. It's a shame the FSX battery modelling is so woeful.

At this stage, v.06 will include:

  • Pusher Ice Mode CAWS panel fix (will switch on with both INERT SEP + PROP HEAT switches)
  • PAS OXY CAWS panel only displays when oxygen knob set to ON
  • STBY BUS will switch on and drain against the battery. You will, now, be able to switch on electrical power via the STBY BUS switch, which will show an indication against Battery 1.
  • Current draw with everything off set to 6 amps, up from 2 amps. This will drain the batteries faster.
  • Adjusted the 24V battery to show 25.5 V at max
  • Fix for fuel pump audio cycling.
  • Small adjustment to fuel display from AtlanticFlyer's fuel lbs display correction (now at full fuel, should show correctly 2,704 Lbs)

Since you can't change battery capacity, I was thinking of modifying the battery gauge to show 6 amps but actually draw something like 0.1 amps against the battery, such that it runs flat the same time as you would otherwise expect. Any thoughts on that?

Will be looking at a release later tonight. Starting to move well away from the realms of just engine ITT adjustments now.

Just had a quick think about this.

What does your indications show when you have both batteries on but one Generator switch on?

As from what I can gather the one generator will recharge both batteries, so both should show 28VDC with one gen turned on.

It does charge both batteries. If you induce a discharge then switch one generator on it shows positive amps on both till they balance at 0 amps.

Can you explain what you have changed pve for the generators?

The way I've currently got it shown - once either generator is switched on, the overhead display changes from battery volts VDC to generator volts VDC. The amps display would also correspondingly change from battery amps to generator amps - is that how you've got it set up on yours?

The top windows are battery volts so if you have both generators off both the battery volts drop and both battery amps show discharge.

When you turn either generator on top both top windows show + amps till battery volts == 24 v then both amps show balance at 0 amps

The bottom windows work as expected.

Do you understand?

autogyo...thanks for all the hard work on this, making this airplane much more enjoyable to fly. have you checked out the pilatus website for the pc-12 pilot information manual? lots of useful information that might help.

Most of the info there is for the PC12 NG, here is a copy of the electrical circuit from the PC12  Flight Manual ( pdf 854 pages...

Thanks pve, I've got most of that already - only thing I don't have the panel doing is indicating 0 amps when the battery is fully charged. That'll be an easy fix though.

Thanks aeronauta, I've been using:

And 777200LRF, I didn't forget about your fuel reset bug, I've been digging around but haven't found where exactly the button action is being coded yet. Not sure if it's one of those things that area buried in the model file. Hopefully not.

If I find it I'll try and fix it.
