February 16, 201511 yr Thanks Rich, one last thing I forgot to mention. Kermit; the yoke is a hub so plugging it into another hub is asking for trouble. Rick S. Exactly thats a no no Buddy Rich Sennett
February 16, 201511 yr Author Ok, I have done it: Yoke+Quadrant directly to PC; Pedals, switch panel and trim wheel to an external powered USB hub. All good for now. Many thanks to all!
February 16, 201511 yr Rich, you might want to point out the Yoke power receptical on your example for future readers of the thread. I believe there are some users who don't realize that you need the extra external power to run multiple devices. It really seems cheap that they didn't include the power supply with the yoke; especially for the cost? I would bet the yoke and throttle alone will respond better with external power provided directly to the yoke. Rick S.

March 9, 201511 yr Author Hello Kermit, I will try it once again; sorry for misunderstanding. Richard is perfectly right : The USB cable from the yoke goes directly in the PC. The powered HUB goes directly into the PC. The CH-Pedals are going directly into the PC. For connections into yoke HUB and into powered HUB see please my earlier topic. And once again : it works perfect for me for quite some years; so why not for you ? If any further questions, don't hesitate asking me. Cheers, Ben OK, so here is my final config: Quadrant (PS/2) into Yoke Yoke into PC (USB2.0) Pedals, Switch panel, trim wheel all in powered external hub External hub into PC (USB2.0) All is now working fine. Thanks you all!
March 22, 201511 yr I only have 4 USB ports on my computer, so using a hub is not a choice, it's a must. I don't have the Saitek yoke, but I do have the X-55 controls, plus Saitek rudder pedals, which mean 3 more USB connections. Directly into my computer are: my keyboard (backlit) my gaming mouse (all kinds of lights) my scanner a 7-port powered USB hub Into the hub I have my joystick, my throttle, my rudder pedals, my Web cam, and a headset. All USB devices draw some power, and if you're not using a powered hub, your computer's power supply is supporting all of them. With a powered hub, at least the 5VDC supply is being provided by the hub supply and not your computer. Now if you have a 800-1KW power supply in your machine, this is no big deal. But in today's computing world, having even 6-8 USB ports isn't enough, so a powered USB hub is a great device. And I can report that with all of the controllers hooked to the powered hub, everything works fine. Why use a controller's USB hub at all when you can add 7 more powered ports with a hub? And by the way, my Anker hub does not power on the devices plugged into it without a running computer. Even with the hub's power supply plugged in, none of my devices will light up unless the machine is powered up. I don't know if they're all that way, but unless there is a signal on the USB port, all lights are off. And my X55 system works just fine running entirely off the hub. No controllers hooked directly to the PC! Does any of this help at all? -= Gary Barth =-
May 3, 201511 yr Living in The Netherlands, I bought all my Saitek gear at Aviation Mega Store not knowing in which was the country of production. I connected Throttle Quadrant 1 into DIN-plug and Throttle Quadrant 2 into USB-plug situated in the Saitek Yoke. However, two Saitek Radio panels, Switch Panel and Trimwheel and the CP-Flight MCP and Efis I plugged into one powered HUB. All work perfect now for several years. For well functioning of the trimwheel I have to turn it till I heard a 'dong' and see the trim wheel in FSX-panel moving. After that it will work fine. Hope I could help you with this information Ben Ben Rikken, The Netherlands
