Ultimate Traffic question

Featured Replies

Hello,I recently purchased UT and installed it. After compiling all flight plans for AI using UT, I noticed that quite a few airlines aren't showing up - American, for example. Did I do something wrong? I flew to MIA and there were no AA aircraft. I would've posted on UT's forum, but it's down at the moment. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,George

I've been using UT for awhile now. Two things off the top of my head: 1) Make sure you have your traffic density turned up - I set mine to 100% 2) If the majority of AA flights into or out of MIA are international, make sure you have international flights checked to run.Regards,Odaat

Thanks, Odaat. As far as international traffic goes, I will check that out. As for the percentage, mine was set at 90%. I would imagine that even some AA aircraft would appear. I'll try again and see what happens. Cheers,George

have you installed the updates that include the AA liveries. AA does not allow their livery to be used with a payware addon but allows it to be added by free updates.

That could be the problem; the updates section, however, isn't working at the moment. Perhaps at some point it'll come back and I'll check then. Thanks for all your help!

I am trying to remember but I don't think I had to compile, UT did it by itself. Also do have the latest time table installed. When I fly into KMIA I have tons of AA aircraft flying around. Yesterday I flew into KORD and almost got run over by a AA 767.I know this is just dumb, but re-read the installaton doc's and see if you have to compile, that may be the problem, but when it works it is very good. BTW I run AI at 80% and tons of AI planes, at KORD there are almost too many even at 80%, had a hard time finding a parking spot at the United C and B terminals, although there is a "trick" on how to get to the right gate, pull up to the correct gate, turn AI off, pull into the parking spot and then AI back on, works like a champ :-).Bob

Hey Golfbravo. It's funny you mentioned this because I had the exact same issue a few weeks back. I posted the question over at the UT forums and they did supply an answer. However, by that point I moved on to PAI and AIA type AI traffic.Don't get me wrong. UT is a good product. Used it for a year. Just decided to get more into depth with my AI traffic. Go over to the UT forums ay their site and look up my question. I'm sure you can find your answer there.Happy Flyin'

You're correct, UT does compile it by itself - once you click the "compile" button and choose the areas around the world that you would like UT to activate. My AA is activated, and I set traffic to 100%, but still, no AA at MIA or anywhere else (I flew MIA - NAS, and there was other traffic, but no AA Eagle, which is odd since they have many flights a day and chances are one would be there).

Hello,With Ultimate Traffic "out of the box" much is missing but after you download all the updates for aircraft and afcads you will see more familiar plane. Many people have used UT as a starting point and over time updated the ai models to aardvark or fsp as well as bringing in liveries for those aircraft. Spend some time with it and your home airport will soon look like it does out in the real world.Tony

Ponyboy et al:I'm thinking of buying UT and using it as a "structure" to add AIA planes to... This way, I can get all the Flight Plans and FDEs, but just change the 3D models for framerate/quality sake...Is this basically what you've done/are doing? I'd love to have a step-by-step procedure about how to systematically do this...

I have learned alot reading the post here. Please bare with the basic questions.I saw all the D/l's for UT. Is there a couple of key D/L's that I need to really have before I invest the time for each of the nice looking airline/model add ons. To get started I did not know where to start. I guess I should feel stupid for not knowing of the updates, but I did not. Since I have no updates from my install of UT some year and a half ago, which ones would anyone suggest.Thanks.

If you are using FS9 be sure you are using version 2 of UT. Also FSUIPC for FS9 should be at 3.48. UT2 should register it for you. It allows the newer TCAS gauge to be used, great for GA flyables. What downloads are you referring to? I've seen AI plans and AI aircraft in general, but not specific to UT. What I have seen for purchase are updated flight schedules.
