  1. When you select the FSX folder on the flight sim computer there is a question about installing the .dll file there if it isn't present. Did you get this question. I wonder if your simconnect is ok but ASN is not finding its other half and therefore not behaving. Do you have other software that works over simconnect right now even though ASN doesn't. It would be a way of knowing if simconnect is alright.
  2. I have a curious problem I haven't been able to figure out and am wondering if anyone here can help me sort it out. Every flight with either the PMDG 737 or 777 I get the plane set up for takeoff and flight and after takeoff the plane will climb extremely slowly to a random altitude below 10000 and wont climb anymore. The attitude of the plane is nose down 3-5 degrees and the wing flex is also curved downwards. So far the only way to remedy is to load the plane in midair and reprogram the fmc with exactly the same weights and flight plans and the aircraft will climb to altitude just as expected. I have tried reloading on the ground and starting with a dark aircraft and so far, no dice. Any ideas?
  3. I did some more playing with the installer and still no luck, ran installer as administrator, ran in compatibility mode, complete shut down and power up, I don't think it would be useful to try it in safe mode as you would want the installer to access all the files it needs, disabled antivirus. :(
  4. Hello, I was able to download right after purchase but when I fill my information into the installer and click install it waits for a while the window says not responding and after some more time I get a new window which says Internal Failure. I have downloaded twice on one computer and then downloaded on another pc with another browser all with the same result. I don't see this error else where in this forum and can't get to Majestic's website so some help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tony
  5. Airbus X Extended ILS 26L at FSDT CYVR. The fog has been hanging around CYVR the last few days and came into land through the pea soup. Left the aircraft to itself and landed safely although a little to the right of center.
  6. I think the best explanation that helped me make simconnect work is in the Activesky manuals near the end about networked configuration. Studying this for a short time was what got it working for me. I do also use WideFS for some programs like VASFMC and a traffic separation manager. The EFB Software has two methods of setting up, one where both programs run on the FSX pc and one where there is a "server" on the FSX computer and the main user interface on a separate computer. I definately like having the programs running on a separate pc and only fsx on the main computer.
  7. I have noticed the same thing. I have efb installed but don't generally use it with NGX because it usually crashed. I formatted and re-installed at the same time as sp1c came out. With only NGX, REX, UTX, GEX and Fsgenesis mesh installed I was getting the stutters every 1 to 2 minutes and they last for 10 - 30 seconds. Since then I have tried other planes (747X, Level D, Citation Mustang, VRS F18, Vans R7) and none of them have the stutter problem. All 4 NGX variants have the same problem. Yesterday I also installed FS2crew for NGX, this didn't make the problem worse or go away. Before I reformatted with sp1b I wasn't having this problem. I also removed completely and reinstalled from scratch, flying between every update and found that every time the stutters were there. It is quite confusing to me how something worked before the format and now has these problems even with more recent patches applied. I am planning to do some more fiddling with it tonight to see what I can find out.Tony vanLaar
  8. Good day all, I have updated my PMDG NGX6/7/8/900 with the latest service pack. I uninstalled the previous version and deleted all the simobject folders and PMDG NGX folders then reinstalled the original package and its sp1b and after that the expansion package and its sp1b. i have completed the first flight with no problems and proceded straight on to the second flight. Once at cruising height on the second flight I tried to enter a step climb altitude where the sim hung so I had to ctrl alt del to end fsx. This first time i had entered 370 and pressed the key where it hung, the second time I entered 37000 and pressed the key where it hung again. This second time i had reloaded where i have the previous flight load as default. I haven't flown since soHas anyone else experienced this? If not does anyone have an idea why this may have happened? Any help would be greatly appreciated.ThanksTony vanLaar
  9. If you look on your overhead you will probably see the brakes overheat warning. I have had this several times (probably doing something slightly wrong), but it easily fixed by resetting all failures on your FMC. Tony
  10. Hi, did you get your 6970 installed? I have put a few more hours of flying in on these drivers and am quite impressed with the improvement on them. I did try to take the old video entry out of the config file and running FSX again and I also tried to turn on the antialiasing again but that didn't pan out either. Settings in FSX are max filtering and almost all video setting maxed. The Catalyst settings are also maxed on every setting. The sim isn't butter smooth in all areas but to me it seems to be a massive improvement to the last driver set. It would be nice to see a few more of you to try this and report your results.Tony
  11. Hi All, I just upgraded to the latest AMD drivers and had to turn off the anti aliasing inside the simulator to get a clear picture. I had lines all over the screen that looked like the structure of the ground, plane and all other items in view. Now I am using the catalyst control panel to control video quality and I think that possibly the shimmering buildings and runway lines are gone and the sim is quite crisp and smooth too even though the frames seem to have gone down a little. I am wondering what others have experienced with this upgrade and if there are any other tweaks that can be used to make this even better. I am running a Sapphire 6950 with 2gb memory on a i720 @ 3.8Ghz with 12gb of 1600Mhz memory (for reference). Any thoughts?
  12. I have the same problem and think that it has something to do with Bojote's config file or the shader model upgrade that he has given us. I don't use ATC very often except to find runway's in use so it doesn't bother me too much. Try rebuilding your config file and see if it comes back. That worked for me until I decided to install the reworked config file again. Hopefully you can get this resolved. Tony

It sounds like all the parking stalls at the airports you are landing at are full. Try lowering your traffic percentage and see if they will let you park somewhere.Cheers, Tony

Don't know how far along you reinstall you are but did you try renaming your config file and letting fsx build a new one? Tony
  15. I have the whole x-plane installed and it is about 70gb without any other addons. You can select what scenery you want when you install. I think the whole package when it came was 8 double sided dvds. One with the main program and 7 with scenery. Airports are basic, mostly only runways that are in the correct location. There are some more decorated airports and there is a lot to be found on the internet if you wish.TonyIntel E6600 Core2Duo, ASUS P5B Deluxe, 4GB OCZ Platinum PC6400, NVIDIA 8800GT, 2 Seagate 320GB SATAII, Creative Audigy2 Value, Dell 22 WFP, Saitek X45
  16. Hi, I had to use the same user name and passwords on all my computers as well as enable other users to read write and modify folders and files in order to network between both of my vista machines and my xp machine as well. I did only do this to one directory on each computer though and that is where I transfer all the files through.TonyIntel E6600 Core2Duo, ASUS P5B Deluxe, 4GB OCZ Platinum PC6400, NVIDIA 8800GT, 2 Seagate 320GB SATAII, Creative Audigy2 Value, Dell 22 WFP, Saitek X45
  17. I just finished reinstalling FSX and all the available WOAI and MAIW and I only have about 6 of these errors that I have to correct so it is possible that a recent install is affecting a older install and you may have two locations to look for and correct if this is the case.TonyIntel E6600 Core2Duo, ASUS P5B Deluxe, 4GB OCZ Platinum PC6400, NVIDIA 8800GT, 2 Seagate 320GB SATAII, Creative Audigy2 Value, Dell 22 WFP, Saitek X45
  18. Hi there, I have had this problem as well and the solution that I used was to go through all the config files of the offending aircraft and look through all the fltsim.xx sections and rename the aircraft title so that there are not two the same. See the example where the two stars are on the end. Each has to be unique.[fltsim.0]**title=FA-18 Hornet**sim=FA-18kb_checklists=boeing_FA18_checkkb_reference=boeing_FA18_refatc_id=N001atc_airline=NAVYatc_flight_number=001ui_manufacturer=Boeingui_type=F/A-18ui_variation=Blue Angels 1ui_typerole=Twin Engine Jetui_createdby=Microsoft Corporationdescription=The Hornet combines the ruggedness required of carrier-borne aircraft with speed and superior agility, especially at high angles of attack. Its powerful engines, canted vertical stabilizers, horizontal stabilators, large leading- and trailing-edge flaps, and sophisticated flight control system all contribute to a level of performance that makes the Hornet a versatile front-line fighter in several air forces around the world.TonyIntel E6600 Core2Duo, ASUS P5B Deluxe, 4GB OCZ Platinum PC6400, NVIDIA 8800GT, 2 Seagate 320GB SATAII, Creative Audigy2 Value, Dell 22 WFP, Saitek X45, Saitek Yoke
  19. Hi there,Check to make sure that your deicing is turned on. It is probably frozen over and not letting any air into the pitot tube to be able to show your airspeed.Tony
  20. Hi there, I too have had the same experience as the both of you. After a major video upgrade (8800gt), FSX with Acceleration is very enjoyable to fly. I have tried reverting to FS9 on two occasions but the performance was no where in the league of DX10 so I have left behind what doesn't work and only use what does work. I am looking forward to what will be offered for FSX Accel/SP2 and hope things keep going this well until the next time to upgrade comes along. Hopefully there are others out there who enjoy this version of Flight Simulator as well.Tony
  21. Hi there,There is a thread and the Project Airbus site about this. I haven't looked at it in a while so I don't know what the results are. Might be worth taking a look over there.Tony
  22. Hi there,If you go to the MCDU FSINN site you can download the VIP model set for your flight sim. These are models that are very low tech representations of the real thing but they do let you know what you are actually flying with. These also do have some of the major airlines painted so for example if there is a Air Canada 767 coming in from somewhere that is what you will see. You can download a regular packeage or a lite package as well. I am sure these packages are available elsewhere but that is where I got them from. I hope this is what you are looking for.Tony
  23. Hi all,I have been slowly updating my ai in FSX and have downloaded the 2 Air Canada files that were recently in the library. I have the main Air Canada traffic working the way it is supposed to but am having problems with the regional flight plans. I have all the planes that are required for the flightplans installed and the aircraft titles the way they are mentioned in the included text files. I can compile the files properly into the bgl file using ttools with no errors. When I load FSX it will go to 90% load where it starts loading the traffic, it will sit there for a little bit and then say that FSX has encountered a problem and has to close. I would imagine that the flightplan file is ok as it compiles ok. My question is, does ttools look to make sure the required aircraft are in FSX when compiling? Is there a problem with the aircraft that I am trying to use? They are PAI Dash 8-1 -3, CDAI CRJ-200 -700, HTAI B1900. Do any of these have compatability issues with FSX. Thanks in advance for the help that you can give.Tony

It's very impressive on my machine. Running on unlimited frames i saw jumps over a 100 in the default flight regularly. Back to enjoying the SP. Have fun all :)Tony
  25. Hi there,Vancouver+ is from FSAddon (http://www.fsaddon.com/) and is a very comprehensive scenery of Vancouver, BC, Canada and it surrounding area. The Fraser Valley, Squamish and Whistler are well represented as well. You can also find other various websites dedicated to this scenery. Hope this helps you a bit.Tony
