As said before, running in 39.9 and not a frame less, but I'll try locking at 25 in the next test.>>If all of the above turns out irrelevant, you might try a>sqirt of two of WD-40Well, no credit currently for those, other priorities. But it's on my list, somewhere after couple other things, incl. yoke, pedals and throttle when my hand (got a cast) heals...no fun before...Btw. other thing I noticed. Stutters happen when disk reads, that is right. ALTHOUGH, it is a brief read and afterwards, the pause seems too long. It's like this: LED blinks like once or twice - then there's a pause for about 1 second - then flying resumes. So, as far as I understand the PC technology, HDD reads, there's no problem, but data doesn't get fast enough wherever it's going...So, does that help??
May 29, 200521 yr Can you change the PCI latency for your SATA controller, using PowerStrip for example? Are the drive accesses relating to loading of audio files (I don't know if when you disable the audio hardware you actually prevent FS from wanting to load .wav files)?I assume you have defragged recently . . . May 30, 200521 yr "So, as far as I understand the PC technology, HDD reads, there's no problem, but data doesn't get fast enough wherever it's going...So, does that help??"Yep, leads me to believe the problem is in your bus speed (or lack thereof). Which means the chipset drivers may not be playing nicely with the rest of your system.Greg
May 30, 200521 yr >Can you change the PCI latency for your SATA controller,>using PowerStrip for example?I can attempt changing PCI Latency Timer, in BIOS. I guess that's the thing you are talking about... May 30, 200521 yr >Yep, leads me to believe the problem is in your bus speed (or>lack thereof). May 30, 200521 yr Maybe try FS-GS, give Michael the problem and see if he has a possible soln. May 30, 200521 yr I get a constant stutter every 20 seconds or so, when my "spyware" deletion program is running in the background. Shutting it down, eliminates the problem.L.Adamson
May 30, 200521 yr Here's another thing you can try, which had a pretty good result for me... I had the stuttering, particularly on the ground with clouds present, but also in the air with clouds, and adjusting my AGP Aperture in the BIOS seemed to clear it up for the most part (only the occasional small stutter remains). This is a new mobo for me, and the AGP aperture was set at 128 by default. I tried 64, 256, and 512. The 256 was the sweet spot. All the other values had no effect, but 256 seemed to clear up the dreaded stutter for me. Maybe if you experiment with that, you'll get some good results. For the record, I'm running a MCI K8N Neo2 Platinum with AMD 64 3200. Old school GeForce 4 Ti 4200 for the video card. Frames are locked at 20.Good luck,Greghttp://ca.geocities.com/[email protected]_BigO_new.jpg

Only some "PEG" settings, whatever that might be...
May 30, 200521 yr I think it's drive related, don't you Word Not Allowed? Something is causing your sys to need to access the drive, and the impact on FS is significant. I think you will have to start looking closer at what is causing your HD access. Good luck . . . May 30, 200521 yr Get a computer only for Flight Sim, that will solve all your problems!~;-) I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
May 30, 200521 yr 2 questions, how did you find out about that odd bandwidth_multi= number?and WHY does it seem to work so well?? WOW scenery loading is a bit slow when panning in the VC but smooth performance even with 100% traffic! WOW I was playing with that number all night but could never get it right, 16776704I can honestly say I never would have guessed that. lolThank you very much John!

May 30, 200521 yr Was today in the computer shop, a guy told me he heard of the problem, and that a friend of his had thhe same problem - i mean, every salesman will tell you that probably - and that the problem disappeared when he got 2 GB RAM and possibly a better ram - Corsair CL2. Turned off swapping also. What do you think?
