February 26, 201511 yr Hello everyone I am pretty sure the Migration tool is broken once the v2.5 hot fix has been applied Installed VFR photographic scenery ... seems to install ok but as soon as I run the scenery library within P3D I get scenery config errors and the VFR scenery is not listed there. Anyone else seen this and is there fix on the way? Thanks in advance .... Paul
February 26, 201511 yr The latest Migration tool works just fine in V2.5 along with the Hot Fix. At least, it is for me. FSINN even works. Regards, Danny Danny
February 26, 201511 yr Moderator You might be running into the issues with terrain & scenery cfg files being moved which would confuse the actual scenery installer. Many installers look for the terrain.cfg file in the P3D root folder - it has been moved. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 27, 201511 yr There is a new version of the migration tool, which is actually a development build, works with the hotfix of P3d 2.5 as well http://www.flightsim.ee/products/migration-tool Regards, Suvo A firm landing in the TDZ is a good one, a smooth landing outside the TDZ is bad. A smooth touchdown is NOT the criterion for a safe landing
February 27, 201511 yr Author Hi Guys Thank you for your valuable input I have just installed the development build ..... Version 2.5.1.746. Just starting installing some scenery so I will let you know how I got on Thanks once again Paul
February 27, 201511 yr Author Hi Hmmmm .. well that didn't work ... only installed one volume of the scenery to check and got loads of cfg errors again when accessing the Scenery library ... I think now I will uninstall P3D v2.5 ..... re-install but I won't put the hot fix in and see if that works .... Does anyone know if you can add the hotfix at a later date once you've installed all of your sceneries? Cheers Paul
February 27, 201511 yr Author Well this is very odd ... I have just installed Playsims VFR Photographic scenery Vol1 for England and Wales into a fresh installation of P3D v2.5 WITHOUT the Hot fix using the development build of FS Estonia Migration tool .... when I put an aircraft on a runway in the area I installed I can see that the VFR scenery is showing and seems to be fine BUT if I go to the scenery library within P3d I get a few messages saying this:- Scenery.cfg error Failed to add library item (Area.126) An entry already exists with the path "" So .. I click through all of these errors and it gets me to the scenery library At the top it says 1. VFRGenX Volume1 Vectors and that's it ... before in other versions of P3D it had quite a few entries for the scenery ... As soon as I click ok to come out of the scenery library it said there are 19 errors would you still like to add them (or something like that) ...... I said ok and it took me back to the sim with scenery still there Now when I go back into the scenery I don't get the CFG errors but is still only shows me the one entry for the VFR scenery ... this doesn't seem right? Any ideas on how to fix this please? Cheers Paul
February 27, 201511 yr What I did for ORBX region and global addons, before the FTX-fix was out, was copy the terrain.cfg and scenery.cfg to the P3D root folder, then install everything and run the configurators and accordingly copy them back to their original place. I dont have the scenery you mention, so I cant guaranty anything, but it might be worth a try... Cheers! Maarten

February 28, 201511 yr I installed the current download version of the EMT today (not the dev build), along with the hotfix. Version x728. It seems to work, though it throws up an error on startup. I didn't notice the dev build but I'm installing ti now after reading this thread! I've been flying a lot with the Horizon VFR scenery in the last week - but I just added the scenery folders manually from my old FSX installation. Treescapes and UK VFR also working no problems as well.
