Shadow on Panel

Featured Replies

Can anyone help? I’m wondering if it is possible to turn off/cancel or reduce the effect whereby when turning or on certain headings the aircraft panel falls into shadow depending on the position of the sun relative to the aircraft. This is at times making the instruments difficult to read and I would rather the panel was nice and bright all the time despite the suns position.I have aircraft casts shadows on itself turned off. This does stop things like canopy frame causing a shadow but not the overall shadow that is cast on the panel or aircraft interior.
Thanks in anticipation!

1. Try turning off all shadows.

2. Turn on panel lights (if they have them).

Maybe one of those may help.

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

There are checkboxes in the Lighting settings that allow you to toggle shadows for the VC (called internal vehicle or something).

There will still be a subtle darkening of the panel from certain angles just like in FSX - as suggested above, turning on the panel lights can help.

Ok thanks, i'll try all that but i think it is the subtle darkening i'm trying to get rid of. Problem with turning up panel lights is that it's a glider so doesn't have any!

Sunglasses?

Thanks for advise turning off all shadows has no effect and subtle darkening is still there, i use a projection system rather than monitor. I have had some success this afternoon by un-checking HDR lighting in the Lighting options. Subtle darkening still there but nowhere near as dark so i'm happy with that for now. Thanks

Try the HDR file changes that some have used to success...

Thank you for that, this may be just what I need!!
