March 8, 201511 yr Waited and mine comes up after ~60 sec. I have yet to try it with FSX. Hi Ike Thank you. Let me know how you get on. Some users are experiencing a slow start up (60-90s) but I have yet to determine why. What are your other joysticks (06A3/0C2D) ? March 8, 201511 yr I have done some testing with a fresh installation of P3D 2.5 and the PMDG737NGX with LINDA 2.6.0. I experienced no crashes during the 737 countdown or during flight. I am unable to pin down a common factor from the above reports. Can those experiencing the crash try starting FSX/P3D without any default PDMG737 and try the default FSX C172 aircraft. Also try starting LINDA 2.6.0 (130) before starting your FSX/P3D. If you did not try the beta test, download and install 2.6.0 beta 11 in case something happened with the formal build. Simplify your set up to a single joystick and re-test. Please report here the following information and email copies of your linda2.log, cut-and-paste of console output and error reports to [email protected]. PLEASE DON'T PASTE LONG REPORT ON FORUM. Information required: Windows version Flt Sim version Joystick devices (including VID and PID codes) Description of what you were doing at time of crash Screenshots of any events. NOTE: Some users have reported a slow start up (60-90secs). If LINDA shows 'not responding' and blank please wait to see if sorts itself out before End Processes. March 8, 201511 yr I'm not sure if this helps, but when returning to 2.5.7 I had crashes still: First I tried simply replacing the 2.6 ipcready.lua, LINDA.exe, and linda.lua with the 2.5.7 ones which still let to FSX crashing. I then tried backing up my Linda and Linda-cfg folders then overwrote all Linda files/folders with the 2.5.7 installation and then copied the backed-up Linda and Linda-cfg folders on top of the 'fresh' folders. FSX still crashed. For FSX to work again I had to delete all Linda files/folders and do a clean install with 2.5.7 using no backups. - Ike Callaway
March 9, 201511 yr Hi Ike Your LINDA config files have become corrupted somehow. A completely clean install, as you have done, was the best way forward. Your backup aircraft config-hid.lua and config-mcp*.lua files should still work and can copied back. If you have a copy of the 'corrupt' installation please zip it and email it to me. March 10, 201511 yr Hi gb Thank you for your report and sorry to hear that you are having problems. The linda2.log file shows nothing amiss. LINDA 2.6.1 has been extensively reworked internally from 2.5.7 to handle the Dynamic HID connection/reconnection. It is worth considering a fresh installation when upgrading. After backing up your \p3d\modules\linda and \linda-cfg, install 2.6.1 before copying back you \linda\aircrafts and \linda-cfg\aircrafts folders. Also make sure you have the latest version of FSUIPC installed (4.939). I did notice this morning a P3D error message stating that 2 versions of FSUIPC were running. I managed to clear this. Make sure that LINDA's 'Start GUI with SIm' is ticked and close LINDA before running P3D. Alternatively, un-tick it to start LINDA separately. There are some changes in the way P3D handles FSUIPC and I will need to investigate further. The flickering number below FSXsync is something I added to easily determine that newly added joystick were working correctly. It has no other purpose. March 12, 201511 yr Hi there. Regrettably both 2.6.0 and 2.6.1 lead to an instant CTD just as soon as Linda begins loading. (Once the aircraft appears on the runway) All is well with 2.5.7 however. Running FSX in Windows 7 64 bit Just using a Saitek T-Hotas at the moment.
March 12, 201511 yr Hi db Have you got LINDA 2.6.1 starting automatically with FSX or did you start it manually? It would be useful to know what appears on the console up to the point LINDA crashes. With LINDA only running the console will be blank, when FSUIPC starts it will log FSUIPC information and will only start LINDA lua code and logging when the aircraft appears. Did you carry out a 'clean' installation of 2.6.1 (backing up and then deleting \linda and \linda-cfg before installing the update? What aircraft are you using? Does it crash with all aircraft? Please email me your fsuipc.cfg and linda2.log files to [email protected]. March 13, 201511 yr LINDA 2.6.1 has been extensively reworked internally from 2.5.7 to handle the Dynamic HID connection/reconnection. It is worth considering a fresh installation when upgrading. Also make sure you have the latest version of FSUIPC installed (4.939). Hi Scot. Thanks for the suggestions but no joy. My results were with a clean install of Linda. I deleted the five 2.5.7 Linda files plus the Linda log file from the P3D Modules folder. Also deleted FSUICP.ini and FSUICP.log. Pasted the five Linda 2.6.1 files into the Modules folder. Ran Linda.exe. Saved off Joystick etc. Started P3D to get Linda to recognise FSUICP. Just after the plane loads at the chosen location the red "Linda is started" text comes up on the P3D screen. A second or two afterwards P3D stops working with just a "P3D has stopped working, checking for a solution" warning box. Then a "Do you want to close the program box". Linda itself stays open but does not find the FSUICP files. gb. Edit: Just tried... Deleted P3D Modules folder. Reinstalled latest full FSUICP. Pasted in the 2.6.1 Linda files. Then as above from "Ran Linda.exe"... with same results. gb. YSSY. March 13, 201511 yr 2.6.1 was working flawlessly for several days. Then I decided to explore the LINDA console and pushed the "Reload LUA Engine" button, and the sim crashed to desktop. I was not able to use 2.6.1 afterwards without CTD. If you would like, I'll try to replicate the event and send you the file. Dennis Trawick Screen Shot Forum Rules
March 13, 201511 yr Thank you Dennis for the report. I need more evidence to investigate the 'new' CTD problem. Can you try the new update 2.6.2 available now on the Download sub-forum?
