March 6, 201511 yr Does SE have dx10 out of the box, or is it just like non SE where you need to convert it? Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
March 6, 201511 yr Need to convert it however Steve's fixer is a must have investment. Cheers, Chris Brand
March 6, 201511 yr Ok that's what I thought, thanks Chris...just wanted to be sure since the way he titled the thread made it sound as if the SE version was improved or different than the non SE version. I understand that it's really the same. Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
March 6, 201511 yr Got any pics with the shadows anyone? It's a good 4 days for me, until I'll be able to get my hands on her.... :/ Alan Wudpick
March 6, 201511 yr Author Sorry I should have been clearer, I'm using FSX SE in DX10 mode with Steve Parsons DX10 Fixer. There are loads of tutorials here on Avsim and on the net, which show you the steps (it really is easy). I'm making a vid and taking pics as I write. Will post link soon. AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 4.2 32 gig ram, Nvidia RTX3060 12 gig, Intel 760 SSD M2 NVMe 512 gig, M2NVMe 1Tbt (OS) M2NVMe 2Tbt (MSFS) Crucial MX500 SSD (Backup OS). March 6, 201511 yr Why should the shadows in FSX SE be different from those in FSX MS? Isn't it a kind of placebo effect?... Further, how many fps do the shadows eat? James Goggi
March 6, 201511 yr Author Haha, you wait till you see the vid, there as good as P3D. I understand that it's really the same. They are almost the same, however SE has a few improvements which has caused some small performance improvements for some users and also improved VAS management to prevent OOMs. Cheers, Chris Brand
