June 15, 200520 yr Hi All,Update on the 512 clouds:We pulled the 512 clouds due to a few installation issues. We re-programed the installation sequence. We re-submitted the files to AVSIM for re-listing.We are all waiting for the 3rd set to re-list.We did not include the 512 clouds in the purchased package because of their download size.We are thankful to AVSIM for their willingness to host our files. They were under no obligation to do so.We will give you so many texture updates that it will make your head spin. We will do this all for free.We are sorry that this has taken 4 days, but we are doing our best!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 15, 200520 yr So Jim, if I downloaded and installed the 512x512 textures on Saturday, am I all set, or do I need to re-download the new version and reinstall? Thanks

June 16, 200520 yr I guess that I will be the only negative here and I probably did NOT give it a fair shake, but I aslo had AS2004.5 and the Flight One Flight Enviroment. I was REALLY HAPPY with this combo as I thought the clouds/water looked as good as they ever had (started in FS'98). I loaded the ASV, but for me there were just TOO many choices that you could make !!!! That's what I liked about the "spinner" in Flight Enviroment. The one flight that I took around Denver, I did NOT like the looks of the clouds that came up. The gray clouds were too DARK and the white clouds were "blown-out" and too white. They just did NOT look as good to me as the ones with AS2004.5 and the Flight Enviroment. Of course I set a "reinstall" point in Windows XP and was afarid that if I did not UN-install the ASV with it soon, like ASAP, I might loose the "point" and have trouble Uninstalling the ASV. You cann't go by my likes.. I also didn't like the Mega Scenrys (or Sound Enviroment) but I loved the new "world Mesh". I don't mind the money spent as I have spent thousands on Flight Sim products and you have to try them before you can decide if you like them ( new products) or not. I just downloaded the new "service pack" for ASV and maybe later on I'll give it another try. As for now, I'm really happy with AS 2004.5 and Flight Enviroment. Jerrycwo4
June 16, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Leo,"Pls for a next upgrade of ASV include microbursts. They hardly ever happen, but they do exist, and do happen. Maybe when approaching under a T-storm put 1/1000 possibilities that it happens. Maybe that way it won't happen to a lot of us, but we'll know we'll have to watch out when conditions are the proper for this event."We will see, we cannot confirm anything yet for new feature will be implemented, but there is some new fix and new will be added.Ps: Polluted sky set will give you more darker cloudsenvironment and day clean will give you more clear air cloudsenvironment.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP Kind RegardsChris Willis
June 16, 200520 yr Jerry,There was a complete texture backup made during the ASV install. The easy solution to keeping your original clouds and enjoy the new features of ASV (without the new clouds) was to restore the backup textures to your FS texture folder, then go into the ASV options and select Manual under the texture options. ASV will no longer change your cloud textures.Give that a try and see what you think.Bruce
