>Hey Bob I'm happy to report I'm finding the same problems as>you. It seems you've nailed down something pretty significant>concerning ASV. 'Auto Generate VAS Points' seems to be at the>root of not only the landing issue but also the constant>buffeting (updraft, down draft) problem I mentioned earlier in>this thread. I think it's time we voiced these issues over on>ActiveSky's forums. I think with a little work this feature>could not only be fixed but also play as a key component to>ASV as a whole. Up/Down Draft simulation is needed in any>weather program simulating real world moving air masses. The>ActiveSky team just needs to work on this feature a bit>more... :-) >>Just the same, I'm leaving 'Auto Generate VAS Points' off>until this problem get's fixed as well... :-roll I agree about posting this on Active Sky in the thread I started, since very few of the people seeing this problem, are posting it there. I have a feeling that the AS people think that this problem is extremely rare, due to the small number of complaints.

REGARDING TRIM WHEEL.I am not associated with Carenado, but, I have a lot of time in 182's, both brand new and older. They are very nose heavy, and require a lot of trim at idle power. In fact, one of the biggest problems with a 182, is with inexperienced pilots who land with too much force on the nose wheel, and buckle the firewall. This is because the 182 has the same nose gear strut as a 172, but weighs hundreds of pounds more under the cowling with the larger engine. With over 50 hours in real 182's and 350 total, I can say that it is spot on. CB

Patched or unpatched version CB??? :-hmmm

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

Don't mean to butt in on your question to CB but I have flown both versions. I never had the serious balloon/float problems that some other users reported but did have excessive pitch up with the last notch of flaps. The patch solved that problem nicely and either slightly improved upon or didn't change one way or the other, the excellent flight model of the original version.Regards,Jim

Since I shut it off, 2 days ago, no more float.

Both were good. But, the second one, if different, is spot on. CB

yep, float problem is ASV related, not flight model. As for flaps, they are BIG on a 182, and you get a pretty good pitching moment while airspeed is at the higher end of the white arc in RL. CB

Ed,I might be mistaken, but I had the impression that you can turn the panel and landing lights on using "L". After that you can switch on and off the landing lights using the panel switches, without affecting the panel lights.Cheers,Henri

In the VC, if you turn off the landing lights , the intensity of the panel lights dims. I find that OK, as you normally would want lower intensity of the panel lights when landing lights are off.

It is not ok ...one may want to lower your panel light yes.. but not switch your instrument/gauge lights off so one cannot read the instruments at all. :)Landing lights should not be connected to instrument lighting period.I can see how Carenado have done this ..a separate lighting texture in the aircraft texture folder....strange as normally it is part of the gauge file... I'm interested to see how they are gonna fix this. :-hah

Well after playing with the texture file I have come up with something that is acceptable for me. :)

With the battery on the instruments will light up automatically at night.
