I was just over at Carenado's site and the Service Pack is up there for the 182RG. I am going to get it now. Best regards, Jeff

I have to say the aircraft feels much better now to me. Best regards, Jeff

>Cool! (not that I felt it needed it) Now all we need is a>paintkit! ;-)>Lands about the same for me, but then I had the "better" landing file to begin with, I suppose. ;) Looks like the ballooning effects with flap deployment have been cut back, and now I'll have to fly a real 182, just to see what they should be in the first place. :D All in all, for a "Cessna", I think it's a pretty decent flight model. With my rudder pedals, the left drift for takeoff using right rudder is near perfect, and I think I'm even detecting some braking action when pushing the prop control full forward on final approach. And as usual, the exterior graphics are top notch art work, which is the real reason I bought it in the first place.L.Adamson --- fly's at least 50% in spot view!

Feels pretty decent to me (actually better than decent)-and the patch makes it even better. Of course only 6 hours total in a 182 this year and another 15 hours in a 172R ....but the memories jump out with this aircraft... :-)Amazing that a non moveable monitor on a computer can evoke such memories...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

They have fixed a couple of my issues:- Glideslope flag now works correctly- More direct access to Autopilot panel- Looping sounds improvedNow, if I can find a way to visually determine the position of the autopilot switches, I'm a happy camper.. maybe new glasses are in order..

It actually flys like a 182-RG now, at least the one that I have flown. The ridiculous shift in pitch that I was getting on flap deployment, and the eternal glide on final has totally disappeared, and it handles much more like you would get in a real Cessna. I still hear a looping in the full power sound, but it is not nearly as bad as it was. I did notice that the changes I had made in the flap part of the aircraft.cfg file , are back to the originals, so it must have been a change in the airfile that solved the problem in the flight characteristic. :)I am still not convinced that there were 2 different airfiles. I guess the proof of that will be when someone that wasn't having any problem at all, installs the patch, and noticed no difference in the approach and landing characteristics.

I had plenty of 30 degree flap drag before the patch, without a tendency to float, and it's no different now.Two different airfiles????? Perhaps????L.Adamsonedit----To be specific, I could never duplicate the landing characteristics you described, such as the tendency to float and land long; in addition to a few other problems. I never believed in two different airfiles either. But if my landing technique has not changed, and your's has not changed, then what's the correct answer?

Well, I was finally able to duplicate it by having Vertical Air Simulation enabled in Active Sky ASV... Power all the way out, and 30 fpm descent. After I disabled it, I got an immediate 1000 fpm descent.Ken

That's interesting, cause I use ASV. I tried it in several different airports, but I am wondering if ASV uses similar Vertical currents at different airports as kind of a default. Probably should have shut ASV off altogether and tried it.

It just would not land. I had to go around, and the second time, I still had to force it a bit but it was a much easier landing--still not quite "normal," though. At the time I just assumed I had cranked in too much back trim by accident, but now I'm not so sure.In any case, I'm off to get the 182RG service pack!Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

I bought the aircraft today, so I don't have any of the other issues, but I do have a question about trim. I see the trim wheel spinning when I adjust it (have it set up on my CH Products Flight Yoke) but I'm just not getting a sense that the trim is very responsive. I used to fly a 172 and remember immediate response from moving the trim wheel. Any thoughts?

It needs alot of trim for it to take effect, when extending flaps. I just hold the trim switch until it gives me what I want. The plane is excellent after the patch, flew an hour's worth of Touch and goes and from Ft Lauderdale to Cape Kennedy , and it flys and lands perfectly. This is an aircraft that I am going need an engine overhaul pretty soon, due to the number of hours I will be racking up on the hobbs.
