April 3, 201511 yr Ok After watching over a couple of threads about VAS and VRAM (both of which I have no clue about), I decided to do a little OOM test. My GPU is an EVGA GTX570 1280MB and CPU an i7 2600k Overclocked @4.6. Not sure if I need to post my P3D settings or what I was flying at the time but if someone needs me to, I will. At the time of the OOM, (or CTD we'll call for now) I was monitoring VRAM through GPUZ and VAS through FSUIPC. VRAM was close to max at 1170MB and VAS was 1564256KB or 1.49179GB. BIG question I want answered here, Do I need to upgrade my GPU??? All answers warmfully welcome Regards, Jimmy.. Jimmy Nestor

April 3, 201511 yr Author What about connecting to other hardware. Forgive my ignorance here but I'm a complete novice when it comes to these things. Does it have to connect to the motherboard or just straight off the power supply??? Jimmy Nestor
April 3, 201511 yr Hi Jimmy - you'll have to slot in the new card in place of you old one and connect PCIe power connectors. But just look up videos on youtube on how to do it right...should be easy as pie. p.s. if you're pulling a fast one, it isn't the 1st anymore...
April 3, 201511 yr Does it have to connect to the motherboard or just straight off the power supply??? That card will make a world of difference from what you have - after you install it you will have power wires that need to be connected to the card from the power supply they are two 6 pin connectors - if your power supply does not have specific connectors for it you can use this method as shown on the 3rd pic down in the link to the EVGA card - I highly suggest you go with the EVGA - also if you dont make sure the one you are interested in has these adapters if your power supply does not have the pci connectors all ready - also make sure your power supply has enough power for the card - EVGA's are rock solid lifetime warranty - no questions asked http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-Superclocked-Cooling-Graphics/dp/B00NSXYEQW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1428024500&sr=8-2&keywords=GTX+970 Rich Sennett
April 3, 201511 yr I just upgraded from a GTX 660 to an EVGA GTX 970 and I am very happy with it using P3D so that should work well for you. It will go into the same slot your current card is in and you will need two 6-pin power adapters off your power supply. Speaking of which, you will likely need at least a 500w power supply. I had to upgrade mine when I got my card as I only had a 460w. April 3, 201511 yr Author Cheers dudes for the recommendations. I guess I'll go with the EVGA then There's plenty of room in the power supply. It's an XFX PRO850W. I fitted that myself when it came, with a bit of help from youtube. You should of seen my face when I opened the box and seen all the connectors, enough to connect three computers by the looks of it. So its basically just disconnect the old from the PSU and reconnect the new. Thanks again guys for all your help. If I get confused along the way I'll be in contact!!! Jimmy Nestor
April 3, 201511 yr Cheers dudes for the recommendations. I guess I'll go with the EVGA then Welcome Jim - yes that will work it has 2 6 pin connectors - use those not the converters - good luck - EVGA is a great card - I wont buy anything but - register it and if you ever have a problem they will send you another new one or better if yours is not in stock - good deal Rich Sennett
