June 28, 200520 yr I've been nursing a shoulder sprain and not in the forums that much the past week, but wanted to add my thanks as well for this beautiful project. I don't have high expectations in the VC with my older system, but this aircraft has amazing performance on my system inside the cockpit and out. I feel like I am flying a virtual museum exhibit. Great job to everyone involved!Regards,John
June 28, 200520 yr Milton and team, it is us that should be thanking you. I normally don't fly the classics, but for your Beech 18 I am making the exception. The best metal textures I have seen. The aircraft trims up perfect, even in turbulant weather. A huge thank you for offering fantastic high quality freeware. I almost feel a bit guilty flying it around for free... :DThanks again,Kevin
June 29, 200520 yr Milton, Running a bit behind here...Huge Thanks to you and your team for an excellent aircraft!Beautiful visuals, and she flies like a dream! Also thanks to all the talented painters out there who are producing the repaints for this great plane...keep it up guys! With Regards, Joe:-)
June 30, 200520 yr BEAUTIFUL Beech 18, best ever for FS9 !.....1. the wheels stuck in ground question. I just hit "Y" (slew) and then hit it again to normal and the wheels come out ok.2. "Starting", when I used to work on them the pilots would engage the starter and count 4 blade tips before turning on the mags. This was to guard against a hydraulic lock on the bottom cyclinder.3. A pilot returning from a freight run one day radioed our intercom that he had to feather the starboard engine and to have a tug meet him at the end of the runway. When we got the tug hooked up I noticed the top of a cyclinder sticking out of the cowl. The only thing holding it on the engine were the spark plug leads.4. A young kid, who's dad owned a Missouri freight company, was late getting in one night with a different airplane than usual. I asked him where his old "18" was. He said he was loaded and on his way up. After he rotated the "18' violently yawed to the left. He said it took all of his rudder and throttle jocking to get it back around and down. The de-ice boot on the left wing had split open the entire length of the wing and peeled back, spoiling it out. The kid looked 19 years old but had a lot of experience because his dad started him very young.LOVE this airplane !
July 1, 200520 yr Milton,First, I can only echo all the cudos others have provided about the Beech 18. You and your team consistently develop and furnish top of the line flight simulation aircraft that continually raise the bar for FS aircraft realism and enjoyment. Can the altitude be set in the Lear L2 Pilot as in other autopilots? Right now, I achieve the desired altitude by adjusting the relative pitch of the aircraft, but I was wondering if I am overlooking the ability to somehow specify the desired altitude. Thanks again to you and your team for all the amazing aircraft.
July 2, 200520 yr hmmm, 'cuz transponders didn't come about until the 60's?Better stay out of controlled airspace. ;-)
July 2, 200520 yr ...a jacked-up modernized version :-)http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/pages/annd18c.htmlThe D18 could swap to floats and skis, too! *hint*
July 2, 200520 yr Hi I'm not flying pre sixties, I'm flying in 2005. Should have a transponder for ATC.Arnold
July 2, 200520 yr Arnold then don't fly the plane just choose one from 2005 hehehe.... :-blaAndr André
July 2, 200520 yr There many versions out there and this one is provide as is just enjoy or else move on :-blaAndr André

July 2, 200520 yr Sheesh! I'm gone for 4 hours and what happens ... LOLOkay guys, let's kiss and make up!!! :-)Brent, I agree, there are as many variations as there are planes flying today. Heck, we even started with one panel and finished with another. Figuring out which variation to do thankfully was left to Scott. hehe He always knows what he likes. I just went along for the ride. ;-)
July 2, 200520 yr And I think Scott did just about the most beautiful job I've ever seen, freeware OR pay!Again, Milton, Andre, and Scott (did I forget anyone?) have made one of the best addon aircraft for FS2004. Those making payware aircraft should take heed...Dan(PS: I mentioned the RPM guage fluctuating wildly when set to 2000 rpm, 30", is this a known issue or something unique to mine?)
