P3D V2.5 and Estonia Migration tool - FSINN

Featured Replies

That's why there's 6 different choices to set servers, we use one to set our own.  Anyway, installed EMT installed FSinn etc. messed it and messed up the FSX FSinn.  Can I set it up for both?,  Spent half the day getting it working in FSX again . . .

Not sure what you mean set it up for both but what I do know if FSInn is quite a challenge to set up for pretty much anything so whatever you're trying to achieve I wish you the best of luck

Thanks - what I mean is to be able to use FSinn on FSX or P3D, depending.  I have some aircraft used in the VA will not function properly in P3D - a gauges problem - example is Harrier nozzles

Rick, thanks very much for that, very helpful, I'm getting on to it right now.  Will confirm back later.

Peter, I think you've missed what I said in my first post and Rick is saying.  FSinn was not designed for P3D and never will be. It's no longer under development and there will never be an installer for P3D except using the like of EMT.  "I wait for the product to be truly compatible"    - the sun will go cold first

This thread was the OP, and now me, hoping to get FSinn working in P3D - and EMT is the easiest way.  There's a lot of software no longer under development will never have a P3D installer but will still work well in it - FSinn it seems, then UT2, Earth Simulations, UK2000, Tongass and Vancouver+ sceneries,  to name just some that I use.  There are many others.

So can we please get back to the point of the thread - FSinn in P3D.  For me, thanks all who've helped

Ok....I understand....I also have the migration tool but used it for P3D V1....and it worked well.

Can I set it up for both?

I only have Fsinn installed in P3d, my fsx is vanilla. but i think having it installed in both will cause you problems, might be time to ditch FSX. lol

Thank you very much for all your comments. FSInn is very important to me cause I fly a lot on my virtuel airline private server. Now I know it is possible to make it work with the latest EMT version and P3D v2.5.

I'll give it a try.

Thanks Guys!!!

Maybe I'm just being "old fashioned" but if an application is designed for the P3D platform, then surely it should have it's own installer? Some applications may not be optimized for P3D and may not run efficiently...I'm not an expert but just my gut feeling...I use a lot of South African Airport Scenery from a local developer which was originally intended for FSX, and while the migration tool was able to install it into P3D V2, it performed dismally with low FPS until the developer optimised the software and released a seperate version for P3D with a standalone installer.....so with me I wait for the product to become truly compatible.

Very true, Peter. But of course, until all the developer's revisit their FSX back catalogue, and provide dedicated P3Dv2 installers, we are stuck. Aircraft such as the CS 727 and 707, the A2A Boeing 377 ( with CotS add-on ) and their B-17 will probably never be updated, and so the EMT, far from redundant, remains an essential utility.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

. . . and back on the original subject, I now have FSinn working with both FSX and P3D.  Cleared out rubbish from first try, installed into FSX got my VA settings right and deleted the others.  Then enabled virtual FSX in Migration Tool and installed in P3D - unticking options about downloading server presets  and not selecting any of optional servers.  It installed OK. Started P3D, add ons/Co-pilot, loaded aircraft, though slightly slower than FSX version (EMT Paavo says does own repository via EMT) even though less aircraft.  And up came FSInn - with the server settings and options exactly as done in FSX, same window positions.  This I would expect as only one copy of Co-pilot and FSinn, but all the same.  And yes, it was still OK back in FSX, can go from one to other without re-boot.  Happy bunny . . .  Now for UT2 - EMT looks like a good thing

Hey - and after install it seems to work in P3D even without virtual FSX enabled!

Good to know Mike, have you got the guide for the UT2 install, i can find the link if you haven't got it.

Thanks for link - it's often updated I see.  I like UT2 because it seems less FSP affecting as not controlled by sim AI.  Any problems I'll go to that thread.  Then it'll be VoxATC and does T2 Bridge work - never ending

OP Mario, hope you lucky as well - I think you running similar to me, private VA
