May 29, 201511 yr I've been sitting on my hands in terms of a landclass for the US for a long time. Orbx, is working on its OpenLC but no word on how long before it'll be before it's released. So, I was over at the Flight1 website and clicked UTX USA. It looks like it's a combination of OrbX Vector and OpenLC (correct me if I'm wrong.) It looks significantly better than FSX default. My questions are: How good is it? Is it only the US or is it also Canada and/or Mexico? (I don't see a UTX Canada or Mexico.) Found the answer...no, it doesn't. How is it in terms of performance and VAS? If I decide to get Orbx OpenLC, will it be easy to uninstall? Does it work with Aerosoft Night Environment? Do I disable Orbx Vector before installing it? Does it work with Orbx Global? (I have Global.) Thanks! Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
May 29, 201511 yr I would also be interested in hearing from people that run it with ORBX Global as at the moment i don't have any vector product and i know some people run into VAS issues with vector My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer

Did a Google and ran across some threads. That would explain why I keep hitting the VAS wall. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. May 29, 201511 yr As UTX v2 was only $15 for previous owners, I jumped on it to see how it looked and ran. Not terribly happy with Vector's performance, I disabled it and installed UTX and have been VERY happy with the results. There will of course be some hit to the system, but from what I've encountered it's far less than when running vector alone. I also disabled FTX Euro LC and picked up UTX Europe V2 and again, very impressed. I don't look very hard for blend lines between FTX regions and UTX as I'd prefer to just enjoy the flight, but nothing has jumped out at me as any glaring issue. Ideally, it would be nice to be able to enable and disable vector area's by region or Continent to give users more freedom of choice. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
May 29, 201511 yr Moderator The only thing is if you use UTX with Global and turn on the custom landclass polys, they don't blend very well with Global. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
